So the above pics go with post I started yesterday …

Edited, click this link for the post I started yesterday!

I did not take measurements but can say it definitely fits the dimensions of a vintage Court, like the one I have. I have a few other comments, but want to hear your opinions. Thanks for dealing with the fact my phone wonked out when I tried to do this yesterday!

It's trying to be a Court but it's fake.

Did you buy it online? Link?

No, per my prior post from yesterday, and sorry I had to break it up, it is at a local thrift shop. I did not buy it. Thank you for confirming!

Edited to add, if I was blindfolded and this bag was handed to me, I would have said the leather was Coach quality, for sure! So many details looked spot on, like the handle, stitching, as in nothing sloppy … Based on everything I have learned here, it helped to think that this was likely trying to be from 1994 based in the code and nickel was not offered then, then I looked for the plate, with indents. I decided to search tPF on the spot for month-year-plant and got my answer!

I wanted to post this for anyone wanting to learn and really understand, you will run across the bags and the leather will feel amazing, the style code will be correct, many construction details will be spot on, and it will still be fake !

Doing a search and posting here may help you begin to weed out the better made fakes!

Sorry. Although I thought of doing it, I was too lazy to go back and look to see where you said it was.

I'm glad you didn't buy it. And your experience is the perfect example of why googling a style number, calling Coach with serial numbers, feeling the leather quality, etc. aren't dependable ways to determine authenticity.

I got lucky with a few vintage Coach I bought before I found tPF, I got them authenticated here. I knew at some point Coach used alpha-numeral-alpha then the style #. Prior to the guides and info here in the Forum, I had no clue that the counterfeiters got that educated and mimicked that. Honestly if it had brass hardware, I would have bought it for the hardware and strap! And then searched, what to do with a Foach!!!
As always, thank you for your hard work!

It's sobering to think that most of the accurate information for spotting fakes has only been researched and put together in the last 15 or 20 years. Before that, many of the posts from the experienced Coach buyers and sellers at Ebay Forums' old Fashion or Clothing, Shoes and Accessories Discussion boards based their authenticity recommendations on things like the quality of the leathers, stitching, etc., and people who looked more closely at things like serial numbers and catalog dates were ignored when they did enough research to start finding patterns in those details.

There are probably still many old-time buyers who bought "Coaches" more than 15 or 20 years ago and have never had them authenticated since then who unbeknowst to them have a few "vintage" fakes in their collections, especially items bought starting around 1990 and on to the present.

Yeah it’s mind boggling. I discovered eBay around 2005, 2006 and was relieved when I had the couple of bags purchased from that time authenticated and they were legit.

Posting this for a friend who inherited this bag. Please let me know if any additional pictures needed. I noticed the D-ring has a notch in it in her photos, but not sure if that indicates it's fake? Or perhaps those were changed out at some point?

Thank you in advance for your time!

It's authentic. I've seen several rings with notches. I don't know if it was done on purpose or if it happened with wear.

Hi! Oh no - did I buy a fake? The zippers pulls are a different color than the buckles and are not engraved YKK. Purchased recently through Mercari.

Approx dimensions: 9.5" W (without snap pouches) x 5.0" H x 2.25" D
