Do you think she got the message once the listing was removed?
No. :) She left me the "scammer" tirade after. Update: I spoke to an (also dumb) customer service person on ebay today, who says I have to "request a cancel with the seller." I already did that! And it was refused. Then she said, "or return it." Seller never shipped, and I really doubt she would at this point. She just wants to pocket the money and do nothing. I'm not contacting the seller again! I'm waiting out the should be received by date, and then claiming non-receipt. Or, disputing through my credit card people.

Seller is arguing with me. Says some random yahoo on a blog online is not a credible authentication. !!!

Now she (I'm guessing it's a very young she) has given me ebay feedback warning others about me because I'm a "scammer trying to get a refund" and "lying."

Report the feedback. Seller's cannot leave negative comments for buyers. It'll be removed.

Thanks for your help. I talked to ebay customer service, and quoted the policy and they deleted her feedback. I'm still working on getting my refund for the fake item she never sent.
I'm glad you got your false positive feedback removed but did you happen to look at bepala-5590's other "feedback left for others?" Click on the last tab:

Thank you very much whateve. Looking at the same briefcase in another color, the bag number is missing but I trust it is genuine. Is there a way to verify the color though? Did Coach actually make this bag in burgundy or is it really the usual mahogany?
Seller is : rca637310967ir

It's authentic. I think it is actually burgundy. Burgundy was one of the "original" 10 colors.

Hello, could someone please advise if they think this bag is real. I purchased off Vinted as a used bag being sold without strap and thought I was getting a bargain as I already have multiple straps but now it’s arrived I feel something is off with it.

Although I can't put my finger on it, I see a few things I'm not comfortable with. I also see a few small differences between what I see in your pictures as compared to Coach's pictures.

Personally, for the price on the Coach outlet site, I think I'd buy it there where it includes the strap and you know it's genuine.

Without a link to the Vinted listing and the seller ID and the fact that there aren't a lot examples of that bag to verify details, I would recommend returning it for a refund.

ETA: Most of the listings for the same style item I was able to find are listed on Asian websites (Shopee, Carousell, Yahoo Japan) and over the last sevveral years, I've seen more close fakes coming from sellers in that part of the world than authentic items.

This finding makes me feel more strongly that you should return it.

Thank you so much, one extra thing I’ve just noticed is that on the coach website their photos for it show the exterior leather being the same colour as the interior and creed and while the interior colour looks like the one on coach website, the leather on this is a brighter red. My own fault for not getting it checked out before buying. Since it came without a strap I’m feeling they excluded it deliberately maybe because it was a big giveaway

To be clear, there's not enough evidence in the pictures you showed to state one way or the other whether it's fake or not, just that there are enough questionable details to give me pause. And since I don't have experience with that particular bag and there aren't enough of them around to check, I wouldn't feel comfortable with it.

With that said, seeing differences between a stock/catalog image and a real-life item doesn't necessarily mean that the real-life one is fake. In fact, during a discussion just a week ago, I posted a couple of examples of differences between the stock images and the final production version:

The takeaway is that unless one knows an item is authentic and/or unless it was purchased from an authorized retailer or the company itself, it's a good idea to verify authenticity.

And even then, there have been documented cases in which dishonest buyers purchased genuine items and returned fakes unbeknownst to store clerks and sometimes those items (rarely) end up being resold. That doesn't mean that stores knowingly sell fakes; just that employees aren't trained to recognize them.
