Report the feedback. Seller's cannot leave negative comments for buyers. It'll be removed.
What an exciting evening! :) She went ballistic and sent me 5 messages in a row saying it's 100% authentic before she pounced on the feedback pen. Some people live in a dream world of "alternative facts." In her world, the bag is good and somehow I'm the bad guy.

Refer the brainiac here.
I did. Originally. In my first (polite) communication, I told her it was not authentic and sent her the link to the evaluation. That's when she said you were some random bozo and not to be believed. :) Her exact words: "Your link was a random user on a blog website. How is that credible whatsoever?" In the feedback she gave me, she marked it as positive and then wrote all the negative tirade. I don't think I can report/remove "positive" feedback.

You can report it. In 2008, ebay stopped allowing sellers to leave anything but positive feedback for buyers. If a seller leaves a contradictory comment, it's a violation.

Feedback misuse policy

What is the policy?

Any misuse of feedback is not allowed. Feedback comments should match the positive or negative rating that was given in both buyer and seller feedback. For example, a negative comment should not be left with a positive rating.

Thanks for your help. I talked to ebay customer service, and quoted the policy and they deleted her feedback. I'm still working on getting my refund for the fake item she never sent.

It's authentic. Not Bonnie Cashin. Probably made early 80s. No, it isn't harder to authenticate from this time period. Sometimes the number fell off -- we can still authenticate them without the number as there are so many elements besides the number we look at.
Thank you very much whateve. Looking at the same briefcase in another color, the bag number is missing but I trust it is genuine. Is there a way to verify the color though? Did Coach actually make this bag in burgundy or is it really the usual mahogany?
Seller is : rca637310967ir

"J8H- and J8Y- serial prefixes are always fake"

"J8Y- and J8H- prefixes - UPDATE

every J8Y- AND J8H- prefix is fake and all the photos I have of bags with that prefix, from the almost perfect fakes to the really obvious ones, all have exactly the same font in the serial number, which is proof that they're all from the same source and therefore, all fake. NO EXCEPTIONS."

Or send her the link to this post.

What's not mentioned:
Coach didn't start using "Y" plant codes on or in any item with a serial number until 2005 when they began using it for a plant in China that was making business and travel items under the Coach Leatherware branding and with a special creed using a CL logo. The Y code was only used in 2005 and part of 2006 when Coach changed all their plant codes from single numbers or letters to two numbers.

Any and all items with "Y" plant codes NOT made in China in 2005 or 2006 are fake. No exceptions have been found.

And some background - the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List has been continually posted and updated on the Internet, from approximately 2007 when it was Pinned to the top of Ebay's Fashion Forum as a reference for years, to Ebay's Member Guides until 2018 when it was again updated and moved to tPF's Coach Shopping forum after Ebay deleted all the member-written Guides and reviews, to the present. The early Ebay URLS in the posts no longer work but the tPF links are active, and even one or two old links are still in the Wayback Machine.

The Daria48 List is the result of almost 20 years of research into Coach history and especially serial numbers. Like the six Salearea Guides that I also researched and wrote, corrections, additions and updates have been added to this thread as needed.

Your seller should be sure of her facts before publicly insulting her buyers. If she actually kept her pie-hole shut and did some basic research, she might actually learn something.

But it sounds like trying to teach her anything is like trying to teach a pig to sing.

Thank you! I am done communicating with the seller. It's a child. And a dumb one. :) Your work is greatly, greatly appreciated.
