Could I ask for another authentication? I am weeding through my "suspicious" bags before discarding.

Item: Possible Coach Legacy Zip Hobo H9D-9966, black with nickel hardware
Where obtained: More than 10 years ago at a Portland, OR thrift store

Bag has a 39" strap (original strap would have been 42") with strange grommet backs--see pic.
Serial number is hard to make out, yet creed is "crisp

Is this bag counterfeit? If so, I will "deface" serial patch and donate or discard.
Thanks VERY much in advance for your expertise!

It's authentic.

One more update, in case anyone is interested: my hubby found me a photo forensics website to run the shopgoodwill photo through to see if I can ascertain if it was photoshopped. My advice for everyone here: do not purchase from Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Williamette.
Final update. I returned the bags at my expense (seemed easier). They are issuing the full refund.

Good evening,
  • Item: 3 coach purses
  • Where purchased or how obtained: hole-in-the-wall thrift store
  • Comments: I’m afraid the purses I purchased may be fake, I would like some assistance with authentication before attempting to return them. My intention was to sell them but now I’m wondering if they’re fake :-s
1st is a dark brown, heavy leather purse serial #C4C-9931. I believe this one is fake as previous posts mention a purse with a zipper, not a flap like this one. I cannot view the previous photos/posts in order to compare.

2nd is a light cream color, lightweight purse serial #B0959-F13098. I believe this one to be fake because the creed says “….in the grain are characteristic.” The sentence just stops and in other creeds it usually says something like “… are characteristic of natural full grain leather…”

3rd might be authentic? Serial #H04S-9544. It is a black hobo type from what I have read. I used the flour trick to hopefully make the creed more visible.

Thank you so much!

The first one is fake for many reasons besides just the one you mentioned, and can't be legally sold or traded in the US. It should just be destroyed if you can't get a refund. The creed actually says "leather WARS" inside the coach logo instead of "leatherware". It might also say "wrinXles". The style .number is completely wrong for the style and date codes, and the hardware is wrong. The font used in the serial number is also wrong for the plant and the year.

The second and third look genuine. The third one is a Soho Leather Tote, I don't know the name of the second one.
