The bag is probably okay but sellers need to understand that just because a bag has a serial number that seems to match the style doesn't mean that the bag it's on is genuine. Counterfeiters can (and DO) make fakes that "match" the style of bag they're copying.

Although some bags have inner lining that is attached making creeds difficult to photograph, this bag has a lining can be pulled out to get a picture of.

Sellers and buyers need to understand that it takes more than just knowing what the serial number is that determines authenticity. The lining, creed text and font have to be correct for when and where the bag was made as well as the style of the bag.

The following pictures show just one example of why we need to see pictures because a "valid" serial number doesn't mean it's authentic. Bag on left is fake, bag on right is genuine. Both have identical serial numbers:

Genuine, one of the Slim Satchels from the very late 1970s to early 1980s. Hard to tell which one since the measurements you posted seem to fall between the two but that happens a lot. From a 1983 catalog:

Super excited about this purchase. My first (and only) Courier Pouch. I think it's the large, not sure however. Seller says it's 9.5 x 8 x 8. (I don't know where he gets that second 8.) ! Please and thank you for taking a look. It looks good to me, but let's let the experts weigh in. This is the most I've ever spent on a vintage bag. PS: Happy New Year!!
