  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read

Just a comment on the "other" seller (from Cape Coral, FL) mentioned who has sold dozens of keychains. On November 29, that seller had a fake Coach keychain that was removed.

The "new" fakes are more accurate than the early fakes of those styles so we probably missed some. Very few buyers take the time to authenticate keychains these days, and I have a feeling that you and I may be the last old-timers who still have photo libraries that include decent photos, or who might still own one of the genuine originals. We're also more familiar with the mistakes the counterfeiters tended to make.

The new fakes are styles that usually weren't faked back then either, and aren't nearly as obvious as the older ones were. They're cheaper to make and a LOT cheaper to ship than fake handbags too. With shipping costs from China and other Pacific Rim sources at insanely high levels, it was probably just a matter of time until the crooks figured that out.

Good morning Authenticators,
I was hoping one of you would look at this Kaffe Fassett Troupe and matching strap I recently purchased on eBay. I did ask for additional pictures before purchase. I’ve received it and really want it to be authentic, fingers crossed. It smells fine and looks to be good quality, but I’ve never actually seen one in person. Please let me know what you think. I’m concerned about the Japanese seller fakes out there resembling newer styles. Please let me know if you need additional photos. The made in tag says Vietnam, I couldn’t get a clear picture. Would this be a big rehab project or a straightforward one? I am concerned about what looks like mould. Would dunking get rid of this? I will seek more advice on the rehab boards if it's authentic.
