Thank you and be safe!

Picked this one up at a thrift shop I had never been to before. I questioned it‘s authenticity because of the female part of the turnlock but grabbed it anyway. I looked it up and it seemed like the style number was right but the majority of the bags like it for sale on line were on Poshmark which I know can be hit and miss for authenticity and none of the photos showed the back side of that piece of the hardware. Please let me know if it’s authentic or not. Thank you!

Genuine Demi Turnlock from 1999. That's apparently the correct turnlock for that style.

Hello, everyone. Could one of our wonderful authenticators take a look at this skinny case? I see that the seller has a mixed history and that has me a bit concerned. I also don't see the stamped 'coach' anywhere, although I think it could be concealed by the hangtag. Any help is, of course, appreciated.

The Coach stamp is in the lower right corner in the first photo. It's VERY faint.

I'm not comfortable with how the stripes in the lining don't match up at the bottom seam. Even many of the fakes we've seen match up the stripes.

Please wait for more opinions.

I believe it's authentic.

This is a picture of one that I had and the stripes don't match. I doubt they would waste fabric matching linings that most people don't see. (Some skinny cases and chunky cases have creeds and some do not.)

@Hyacinth! You and I are of a similar age. Good looking! seeing that stamp. Thank you! Waiting for others.

Hope I'm not overstepping. Quite a while back I had an eBay listing for a 7170 that was authenticated here. The stripes were not aligned on it either, but were perfectly offset. Photo attached

Hi everyone! I'm new here and have just started collecting vintage Coach bags. I came across one on Poshmark recently and while I've seen a lot of Coach bags, I've never seen this one. It looks real to me and it looks to be from the 70s. I really love the shape and will buy it immediately but wanted to ask for help authenticating it first. The listing info is below and I've attached photos. Any help would be so appreciated!
Item: Coach vintage Soho crossbody bag from 1970s
Listing number: unsure where to find the listing number, so sorry!
Seller and site where listed: Jadranka M, @jacamu60 on Poshmark

Bags from the 1970s are unlikely to have serial numbers, and the "Made in..." line in a 1970s bag's creed stamp would always say "..New York City". Coach didn't change that line until around 1988. And it's not from the Soho line since "Soho" wasn't an official line name until around 1993 when it replaced "Lightweights".

There's an infamous "guide" that's been floating around the 'net for years that has several serious mistakes regarding Coach dates, often the manufacturing dates they list are as much as 10 years off. Be careful where you get your information, much of what's found on the internet is just plain wrong. And far too many sellers don't have a clue about what they're selling, like this one.

HERE'S where you should start:

The bag is a Carlyle Bag, style 9854 from the very early 1990s, here's the Holiday 1990 catalog. Note the "New" in the description:
