This one just ended, just as i went to get a link for it. I was confused by the creed. I have seen this smaller cartouche before-- where "Coach" sits so really tight in the frame. Is it a legitimate Coach cartouche? is it correct for the date and plant?

The bag is authentic. The seller is very knowledgeable about Coach. The bag may have been made in 1992 or 1993.

The first one, listed by duckbillandplatypus, is fake. The second one, listed by kimbe.carmi, is authentic. Even though both of the bags are the same style, you can't compare the creeds because they were supposedly made in different plants and different years. You can only compare creeds from the same time period and plant. The first one is fake because the year code is too early for the style and the creed format and wording is wrong for the date. If you look closely at the pictures, it appears that some of the hardware is silver rather than brass.

Thank you very much!!! Last night i almost bought this hobo in British Tan, but wanted to confirm if the creed was appropriate. I looked around ebay for other Coach bags from 1994 plant C and they had different style of the creed. That's when it started creeping up on me - there might be a problem. But i could not help looking for the exact style first :)
Letter K looked weird too, but i did not find much to compare it with.

Does this bag seem OK? Thanks!

It's probably ok but they're not even close to the right style number.

It's too big to be the newer style Canteen Bag which was style 9982, and the measurements match the Chester Bag style 9901 which seems to have discontinued around 1993 and I don't think would have been made in 2000. The style number in the one you're asking about looks like 9960 which is for a Daypack, not any known style of Canteen Bag. I can't find any other bags in this design that were made in 2000 but it's possible they only made a few.

The serial number prefix does match other bags from Mexico, I just can't find any records of the style being made or re-made during 2000 although there may be one buried in a catalog somewhere.

ETA - the seller apparently posted the creed photo from a much NEWER style 9960 Daypack to this listing, and posted the creed from THIS 9901 Chester Bag to the Daypack listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

So the one you're asking about is genuine but it's at least 22 years old with a serial number of 009-1239. It IS genuine though and is an early 1990s Chester Bag..

So... I admit that I've developed a serious love for 90's - early 2000 Coach leather bags; particularly the Bonnie Legacy Tote. So far I have black and red in my collection, but know much more is needed to complete it. Ultimately, I'd like to have 2 of each... 1 to carry and 1 to archive. Please let me know what you think of these. Thanks. :D

Please remember, we need clear, readable photos of the creed patch and serial number.

3 thru 7 are genuine, 1 and 2 probably are but can't be authenticated completely without creed photos.
