These pics were copied from the seller's post. I also added two other shots. I can't make out much from the faint serial numbers. Thanks Hyacinth!

Is there anything stamped on the back of the buckle, such as "solid brass"? And are the grommets on the strap the same brass color as the rest of the strap hardware or are they more silver than brass? It doesn't look like there are indentations on the back of the turnlock but the seller's photos aren't as clear as I'd like.

I can't read the serial number at all, so unless there's some other problem I'll have to let another authenticator take a look. I'm not comfortable when a frequently-faked style has a serial number I can't read. Sorry, hope someone else can help.

Would you please authenticate this bag I purchased at the estate sale? It's about 9" x 5.5
Thanks

No problem, Hyacinth. Thanks for checking anyway. As curious as I still am about the bag, I would stay away from it unless there are more assuring indications that it is indeed genuine.

The creed and serial number indicate the bag is genuine, but that heavily textured leather isn't how the leather of that style should look. Those wrinkles, especially the ones on the front of the flap, are NOT what the "scars, scratches, veins and wrinkles" in the creed are referring to. If I saw those wrinkles on a confirmed fake I'd see them as a sign of overstretched or overprocessed leather. If the bag is genuine, it could be that they were caused by frequent usage like opening and closing the flap without any kind of conditioning to try to keep the leather soft. The long parallel wrinkles right at the top of the flap probably are from frequent opening and closing. The other ones just bother me. JMO. Maybe I'm over-thinking things.

More opinions are welcome.
Hello! Thank you so much for your time. I absolutely agree that the leather looks suspicious. I’ve asked the seller what they use to restore bags but haven’t heard back. I’m worried the leather is ruined by the restore process. I’ll pass. Thanks again!

Hi everyone. I worked at the COACH distribution center a long time ago (nearly 20 years) and I know this is a legit bag. I'm thinking early to mid 1980's. But I can't find the name of this one. Can anyone help? Its about 10" long, 7" high, and about 6" wide. It is not made for a strap, and the zippers extend over the sides. 20220729_191436.jpg

Welcome to tPF!

Please read the "READ ME" post at the top of each page for the information required for authentication. We especially need to see photos of the creed stamp and serial number, which help us date the items in question. The photos are also necessary for authentication, and we need a bag to be shown to be authentic before we identify it, since a fake doesn't deserve a Coach name. We also need any links or URL of where the item is being sold, if it's listed somewhere on the internet. If it's in your possession we need to know when and how it was acquired.

The style looks similar to a Classic Satchel but we need the photos specified in the Read Me post to be sure.
