Hi Authenticators,
Can I get this authenticated? Thanks in advance.
Item: Coach Bucket bag
Listing number: NA
Seller and site where listed: oldarmy44@carousell

Comments: Serial is 0598-102. Made in The United States. I would appreciate it if you can let me know the name of the bag and what year approx was this bag made. I have seen a few variations of this bag. Some with detachable straps, some has no line in the middle of the pocket and some bags has knotted string etc.

Thank you! Your reasoning for stating it's a fake - is that based solely on the serial number starting with an "R" or are you able to share any other identifiable indications from these photos?

The R for the month code is all the proof we need. I'm going from memory but I believe there was also a problem with the turnlock. I took another look and the leather texture is also wrong. And there's also a problem with the serial number stamping.

Genuine Pocket Drawstring, style number 4021, from the Lightweight line and made in the early 1990s.

Welcome back @whateve. I would appreciate it if you could have a look. I found it a few weeks back at a local vintage shop. You were away, then I was away…. It’s approximately 11”x 10”x3/4” Thanks in advance.
Authentic in my opinion. Looks like a shoulder frame pouch.
Thanks so much. Any idea of it’s age?
Probably early 70s.

The picture isn't great but I found this in the links that Matthew recently provided and it appears that originally the name was simply "Frame Pouch" and the style number is 9140 - nice find!

Thank you! All of this catalogue info is amazing. Too bad about the resolution though. They look like scans of photocopies.

I'm sure that's correct, my understanding is that they are part of the evidence presented for a Coach trademark infringement lawsuit. I think they are included to prove that the Coach name has been around for a long time but I could be wrong - I'm not a lawyer - I'm just a Coachie!

I have the same bag but with a teenie tiny metal Coach tag rather than an embossed cartouche (did I spell that right) behind the closure balls. Whateve was kind enough to authenticate earlier. Is mine also from the early 70's, or perhaps earlier? If we're veering into inappropriate chat for the authenticate forum, please say so, and I'll move my question to the vintage Coach chat forum.

Item: Coach (can’t find model name)
Bought on Poshmark Canada, seller springpurge

I didn’t do my due diligence with this bag! Very unlike me; don’t know what I was thinking

i have literally turned the bag inside out and can find no white tag anywhere — nothing inside interior pocket or anywhere else on lining.

measures 15”x 12”

I loathe knock-offs on principle, so if this is one (as I suspect), I would neither carry it or resell it.

They may have changed the name. I have this catalog picture that includes the word shoulder. I don't what year either of these catalogs are from.

I believe the metal tag predated the embossed cartouche. The black metal tag was the last of the metal tags to be used. A lot of it is conjecture rather than absolute fact. I may also base dates on when I know a style was being sold. Yours could be very late 60s or early 70s.

Really, really bad fake. There is almost nothing right about it. Please ask for a refund. You shouldn't have had to pay for something like that.
