Ok please tell this bag is fake right ? I’m going to pass on it
Fake. (I assume it's at a thrift store since many of your requests are from Saver's.)

^^^ ETA: I see @Hyacinth already posted the verdict. (Note to self - again: Finish reading before posting.)

Omg can this be real ? Found this at savers and purchased before checking with you guys got so exited
10"L, 10"H, 5"W
Nice find!

Yes, it's genuine and probably made some time between the mid 1970s to mid 1980s. The inside pocket zipper pull may have been replaced.
Omg no way. How can you tell that zipper has been replaced
The zipper pull is a brand we've not seen on a Coach. (But zippers can be replaced and are never the sole detail in authenticating a bag.)

Zipper pull, not the entire zipper. It's hard to tell, the zipper PULL ia a silver color, the stop on the end in the photo looks like brass and I'm not really sure what color or metal the zipper itself is.

A replacement zipper or zipper pull or slider mechanism on a bag more than 40 years old isn't too unusual.

Comments: would someone please authenticate this bag for me and if possible provide the style name? Thank you!

Genuine, it looks like a Convertible Clutch, style 9635 and probably from the late 1980s.

It’s longer then I had expected, and the leather is thick and a little floppy. I couldn’t find any similar bags in the catalog photos.

@JJK250 I was thinking about your mystery bag "the long, floppy clutch" so I asked a vintage coach fan named Matthew on another forum if he had ever seen one like it, because he has a very extensive collection of Coach small leather goods and vintage Coach men's accessories.

He found the picture below online and suggested that your bag might be the same, does it look like your bag? The typed notation calls it an "Envelope Clutch" but I am unsure about the style number of 9550 that's listed -because that is the same number used for a Soho Flap Satchel. However, I know that Coach has done a few odd things with style numbers over the years a few times!

@Hyacinth, are you familiar with a vintage bag called the Envelope Clutch?

Maybe, the length and width are the same. But my long floppy “clutch” doesn’t have any place to attach a hang tag. And it lays very flat. There is no way for it to stand on its own. I’m holding it up. The bottom is as thin as the top. View attachment 5426095

@JJK250 I found another reference to the "Envelope Clutch" in Mathew's vintage Coach files but this one has a different style number 9810 and it has different dimensions, see below. This bag has a magnetic closure, does your floppy clutch have anything like that?

The mystery deepens!

I have seen this zipper pull on one of my vintage bags. It's very familiar, especially the way how font runs vertically.
I'll post mine when I find it! (I have so many bags it's hard to go through but I'm thinking it maybe one of the classic pouch bags)

Could it be that Coach actually used this zipper if mine has the same zipper pull? Just curious.
