I found this bag out of my children’s dress-up bin today after thinking about the other three bags I mentioned in my very first post. I am wondering if is authentic or if I should mark it with a sharpie as fake and put it back among my kids’ playthings…or beg them to trade it to me for a “non-Coach, but more exciting (to them)” one to play with, hehehe. My mom sent it to me for the kids to play with—she had found it at a thrift store for a bargain (knowing my mom).

Its No. 0736-907. I have no idea if this is an old, authentic serial number pre-1994, or if it’s a fake.

The hangtag is one-sided—raw leather on the bag instead of another “Coach” stamping.

There is also a gold metallic “22 1/4 B” stamped on the inside raw leather body of the bag, visible when flipping up the flap pocket. I’d be interested in knowing what it means, if anyone knows?

Dimensions:
7” tall
11” wide
2” side width
42” strap length

Thank you in advance!

Hi! I think this may have been missed yesterday or maybe I need to request more images? It’s completely fine if I just need to be patient, you’re all so generous with your time! Thank you!

I don't have any experience with the more recent remakes or any examples in my photo files to compare it to, but the year code for 2012 is probably right. Please wait for another authenticator.

Genuine, probably a Basic Bag. The hidden stamp on the inside wasmade by the leather supplier.

Hello, friends, happy Tuesday! Could someone authenticate a couple more?

Comments: I asked for better pictures of the creed and turnlock - I have a good feeling about this one!

Would y'all be so kind as to take a look at this brown pocket purse? TIA

The bag is genuine, but I hope whoever buys it takes a good close look at the Entrupy "COA". Not only are the details, serial number, etc on the certificate hidden, but the color looks more like black. Please be sure it's for the same bag.

We see quite a few of that prefix.

A lot of fake prefixes start with J, but so do a lot of genuine ones with valid plant codes. But J8Y- and J8H- are always fake. J8P- can be either, depending on what country and plant code were stamped. The few we've found with P plant codes saying they were made in Costa Rica are genuine.

Thanks, I think that I almost got into trouble a couple of times with J8Y so that one made an impression on me!

There's a photo from the old drilldown pages linked here but no information about the bag itself:

I'm not sure if this is it, but it looks pretty close - Chelsea Inlaid Perforated Leather Emerson Satchel, from the July 24, 2011 Wayback pages, about 1/4 of the way down the page under Satchels And Carryalls. It would help to see a complete, stuffed and upright photo of the bag in question :

Keep in mind - having most of the hardware stamped "COACH"doesn't mean a thing. If fact, the older the bag is the less stamped hardware it should have. Stamped hardware on classic and vintage bags can be a serious red flag. Older Coaches made before the later 1990s usually had no stamped hardware at all, and only a handful might have "Coach" stamped on the buckles but nowhere else.

ETA - yes, that's it, style 17795

This page is a bit more manageable:

That is definitely the one. Thank you so much you are a rockstar. I did try to find 2011 Catalogs online but did not even think to use Wayback to search. I will definitely use that in the future.
