Item: Beaumont Speedy Doctor Satchel 9871 (Black Leather & Brass Hardware)
Where purchased or how obtained: Estate Sale
Dimensions: 11.5" wide x 7" tall x 5" deep

Comments: Please offer an opinion about authenticity, thank you. The serial number is a bit difficult to read so I have tried to enhance it by dusting with eyeshadow. It appears to be K8D-9871 (or K8B-9871)? I think that it is a Beaumont Satchel that was made in the US in 1998, do you agree? Thanks again!

Both are genuine. K8B- is the prefix in the Beaumont.

Item: Coach Poppy "MINTY" tote
Purchased: Goodwill online
Dimensions: 12in wide, 13in Height, 5 in deep

Please offer your opinion on this bag. I purchased it from Goodwill online and it came with authentication. It appears to be a Coach bag with a valid number.
However, when I tried to find another one like it online, the only other one I could find was being listed for sale on several sites as a numbered limited edition bag. The pictures showed a bag identical to this one with the small tag under the creed label that was printed with "24 0f 25 Limited Edition". This bag has the same tag, but it is blank.
Does this mean it is a fake?
It's always a good idea to get Goodwill listings verified even though they come with COAs because the companies they use have been known to make mistakes, with Entrupy making more than the other company.

But in this case, the details of the bag seem to be okay although the blank "limited edition" patch seems odd to me.

Other opinions are welcome.

Thank you. I am always wary of Entrupy. I'm satisfied that the bag is authentic, but I don't know what to think of the blank patch...

Hello Authenticators,

Can I be assured that this Taft bag is genuine? I'm concerned that the strap hole grommets look like they're silver (nickel) instead of gold (brass). Is this a genuine concern or did brass sometimes fade to looking silver? Thanks so much.

It's FAKE.
An even bigger problem than the strap grommets is that it has an always-fake serial number starting with J4K- when used in a handbag of any kind. Check the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List:
PART 1 -

PART 2 -
which says:
"J4K- and L4K- prefixes are ALWAYS fake, the plant code can't be verified to have ever been used in the US, only in China. ALL serial number prefixes ending in *4K- need to be authenticated by the experts at Ebay's Fashion Discussion Board.

L4K- and ALL OTHER *4K- serial numbers update- often or always fake
J4K- serial prefixes are already on the Fake Numbers List but we need to add all other *4K- serials as probable or usually fakes. That K plant code seems to be invalid for 1994. There may be a few valid L4K- numbers but they all should be authenticated. (4-12-14)"

Not only that, but a J4K- prefix like the one in the fake has a date code that's a full year before the style was even introduced by Coach.

Would you please authenticate this cosmetic bag that belongs to a family member. It's about 7.5" x 4.5" x 1.5"
Thank you

Would love if someone o could take a look at these thrift store and garage sale finds. I think they look good. But I want to make sure because I have been burned so many times.

Woah!! I read years ago to be cautious about the "J" prefix but could not remember that spefically "J4K" and "4K" are some of the worst fake offenders. Thank you so much for confirming it is fake and for sharing the important info!!!!

Can I please get expert opinions on this bag. The bag is being sold at my local consignment store and before I buy it would like it if it is the real deal. Not sure the name of bag and what leather. The creed does say it was made in Italy. Thanks for taking the time!
