The bag is authentic and it is vintage and it is leather. I'm sure the problem is that it is a Lightweight. I had a similar problem with a Sheridan. Won't ebay require proof from a paid authenticator?

I always look at your listings when I encounter a style I'm unfamiliar with. I've learned a lot from you!
I learn from you too. I'm always looking at TPF archives as well as all the Salearea guides.

I spoke with ebay, but all they said was maybe the buyer could revise. The defect will stay with me though. I about got sick.

I think a paid authenticator would only help for a PayPal dispute. Boy 13 years without a negative was a pretty long run. lol It hurts when we all put so much time into researching these bags. Thanks so much for taking a look. I'll send this to the buyer. If nothing else then it's a heads up for sellers bbl.

COACH Vintage Drawstring Sac Large #4010

Trying to get negative feedback revised. Buyer does not think bag is vintage, leather, or authentic. I'm thinking maybe they are not familiar with COACH lightweight leather. Thank you.

Feel free to send my comments to Ebay, or to the buyer:

The description in the listing is completely accurate, and the bag is a genuine Drawstring Sac from the late 1980s-early 1990s Lightweight line.

The style could be either the Large #4010 or the Medium #4015 since the measurements and styling details are very close, measurements can vary depending on how and where the bags are measured. Those Drawstring styles were introduced in 1987 as one of the original Lightweight styles, and had been discontinued by 1992. Since that makes them at LEAST 22 years old and 20 years is the accepted cutoff for the "vintage" designation, BOTH styles are vintage. Photos of both are below and are from the Holiday 1987 Coach catalog. I've also posted the page from the same catalog explaining the Lightweight Line design details and reasons for them. The Lightweight leathers were just as the name says, thinner and lighter to make less of a strain on the shoulder and back. Their leathers WILL feel different from the standard Coach glove leather but it does NOT mean that they're fake.

The formatting of the creed and serial number indicates a production date between 1988 when the MADE IN USA statement began to be used at the bottom of the creed stamp (Coaches made in 1987 or before would have said "Made in New York City USA"). The xxx-xxxx 3+4 serial number format with all numbers was phased out starting around 1990 and was NOT used after 1993, so that also indicates a production date between 1988 and 1993 - since the style was discontinued by 1992, that narrows it down even more.

Information - ACCURATE information, NOT the nonsense found in far too many so-called "Guides"- can be found in both the set of six Coach Guides by highly experienced Coach seller Salearea (which I personally researched and organized), and in the Guide to Coach Creeds and Hangtags by seller and acknowledged vintage expert SacsMagnifiques1941, both published at Ebay and the best references of their kind anywhere:

http://www.ebay.com/gds/Guide-to-Vintage-Coach-Hang-tags-and-Creeds-/10000000177697673/g.html

There's nothing wrong with the Coach in Ebay listing 161540362323. The buyer is seriously misinformed.

That sucks. Have you posted the buyer's ID somewhere so we can add it to our BBL? It no longer shows for other people on your feedback page.

I've heard that ebay won't remove the feedback unless you can prove it was vindictive. They consider it to be an opinion so it doesn't have to be factual. I'm so sorry this happened to you. You took the return so the buyer shouldn't have left negative feedback. Honestly, I don't think it will hurt your sales. Very few sellers with high feedback numbers, if any, last as long as you did without a negative.

My buyer who accused me of selling a fake Coach because she was unfamiliar with Sheridans didn't leave feedback for me. About 4 months later, she sent me a connection request on Linkedin. :wtf:

I found this at a consignment antique mall... (yes, not antique but often the booths feature more modern finds)

I believe it's a Hobo model(signature..obviously lol)...the pictures i apologize are not tip top as my mum grabbed these for me and her Iphone ability is well, she tries.

If i get this whole Creed reading concept i believe made in Jan 2013? and it's Factory. ?

It looks authentic. You are right about how to read the creed. I think it is called signature stripe convertible hobo. There is one on ebay with a price tag. The tag says SIS convertible hobo.

ETA: the color is silver/light khaki/coral.

Thank you, i had been unsure, my other Coach purchases have been either outlet or Retail so i didn't want to make a mistake as i have understood the signature lines are quite often counterfeited.

You're welcome. The signature lines are often counterfeited, but so are other things you wouldn't expect, so it is always a good idea to authenticate, unless you are buying it from a major retailer or Coach.

Hello, can someone please authenticate this bag?
eBay item number:261723304794

I bought this as I love the duffle sac bags, and this looked like a early model. The seller was a brand new seller. Comparing to my authentic duffles, the buckle attachment is different, the zipper attachment ring is a thin wire in an unusual shape(could be a replacement?). The leather is either pebbled or very dry. I am attaching some of my pics as well. Thanks, ladies

It is authentic. The leather on the very early bags was different than the leather they used later. I think the leather was thinner. I don't know if they feel the way they do because of age or because the leather they used was inferior. Several of my very early bags look pebbled. I don't know if it was there from the beginning or developed over time.

The zipper pull is the original one. These are very rare. They look like paper clips.

Hi,
Is this bag authentic?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...077?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1e9830586d

seller ID orlandobaba123
item num. 131402324077

What green colors did Coach have in these styles of duffles from the 90's? I've seen olive and hunter and also written in a vintage ad as lime, but this one looks more like a leaf green
The seller, orlandobaba123, listed a fake today: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-USA-1...r-/131402841533?ssPageName=ADME:SS:SS:US:3160
