Thank you for the guidance. I have gone through some of the materials you listed above. I've been trying to collate and save all the bits of information so my brain can access them easily (Both for authentication and rehabbing.) I have the memory of a gnat however and keep forgetting where I left off. Any theories on why Coach doesn't put out information regarding authentic products. Particularly their early designs. My only thought is that they fear better counterfeits. They have an internal archive and an in-house archivist and I would expect them to have copies of all their ads and pamphlets. There are also a couple of books, but I haven't been able to access any of them. I suspect somebody on this forum has a copy. The Coach Creed article is brilliant! There are a few references to a drill-down list that was accessible in the past. It doesn't seem to exist anymore? I know ebay decided to delete a lot of information, did that get deleted as well?

Coach probably figures that there's no market for information being made available to the public on old items and styles. They're in business to make money by selling NEW styles or re-designed older styles, not to keep the pre-owned market (which might steal sales from their current lines) alive and kicking.

Their archivist is at least the second person in that position and isn't supposed to be a Coach expert, just a record-keeper, buyer of old bits of Coach history, and organizer. Nor is s/he supposed to be answering questions on Coach's time about details or authenticity from the general public. It's like the old "drilldown" which was discontinued and deleted (at least for the public) roughly 10 or 12 years ago. They're not going to spend money or bandwidth keeping sites like that functioning just to keep collectors of vintage Coaches happy or to make things easier for counterfeiters. Even the position of Archivist is fairly recent, before that there was no effort to keep records of company or plant history or old styles. Along with old "non-essential" computer records being deleted, lot of valuable non-computerized information was probably also tossed in the proverbial dumpster before and during the move of the main offices from NYC to Jacksonville.

With Coach as with most modern companies, it's the present and future profits and the stockholders that matter, not the Past.

I agree with everything you said; particularly the last sentence.

Thank you...no glasses were there...pity.
For some reason they always separate the glasses from the cases.
I just don't understand that.
Yeah, especially if someone made it a point to donate them together. It's dumb but when I donate things I try to keep things together that came together. I'll feel guilty if I keep a strap, for instance. If they just separate them, my effort is wasted.

I found Dior sunglasses last year...as I was going out the door found the case to go with it. They could have charged more. As it was I got the glasses and case for NZ$1.50
When I find good glasses I always try and look for the case at the same time.

Can I have this thrift store find looked at please

Edit...no idea why it's made extra photos.
I don't see any problems. These weren't sold separately. They came with sunglasses. Other opinions are welcome.

I agree that the case is authentic.

My friend just received this and thinks it’s fake. Leather feels plastic and buckle is missing. Thank you
It looks authentic. Did she check the pockets for the buckle? I've never had this style so I don't know if the buckle should be attached. If it is missing, she can return for not as described.
