I hope you made a VERY strong wager with your spouse, because whatever he bet you, he owes you. It's a genuine Bleecker Satchel and made in 2000. That extra hyphen is found in many genuine Coaches especially from the "D" plant in 2000 and even 2001.
Thank you for that validation. The next bag is on him and it will not be cheap. Overall he is a good guy to put up with my purse habit.

Since colors almost never reproduce on a computer or camera the same way they look to the human eye, I won't try to guess a color. The bag looks like gray or black in the seller's photos and brown in yours but I don't remember Gray being an available color between 1990 and 1993 but I could be wrong. Colors can look different after a vintage bag has been washed and conditioned.

The Duffle Sac is genuine, from the early 1990s.
I appreciate your time! Guess keep it , wash and condition it and see what color it turns out to be
Thank you!

This was my first vintage coach thrift store find, and I'm second guessing it. Can you let me know? Serial number is hard to read in photographs (just like my previous fake I purchased), but it's H5D-9975. Fingers crossed !! Thank you!!!

We don't see many of those. It's a genuine Curtis bag 9975, made in 1995. Here's the page from the Spring 1996 catalog, click on the thumbnail:

Could you please verify this one? I've never seen a serial number like this, and am really interested to know if it's legit. Is this just an older bag, or fake?

Hi, authenticators,
Would you please take a look at this for me? It’s a red Willis - would love to get a red one. The serial # is H13-9927. Isn’t the 3-digit prefix off? And isn’t the typeface odd? I assume the 1 in the prefix means it was made in 2001 but what about the 3 - what plant would that be? I thought plants were referred to with letters.
It’s from Goodwill,
Thanks.
Lucy

Hello authenticators!

Would really appreciate your expertise and feedback regarding the below bags. (I went a little nuts last week...) Thank you so much!

Item: Stewardess Bag
Listing number: 313906327452
Seller and site where listed: elizmagn_42 on Ebay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/313906327452
Comments: Bag appears genuine. The strap is significantly shorter than my old Stewardess made in Costa Rica. Wondering if this typical of NYC era Stewardess bags or if there is a problem with the bag, as I've read that a lot of fakes have shorter straps.

Item: Court Bag
Listing number:384802204975
Seller and site: oklahomepicks on Ebay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/384802204975
Comment: Loving the two tone on this bag. Tried to find more info on it, it's a spectator edition?

Item: Rambler Bag
Listing number: Couldn't find
Seller and site: kkpgx6 on Poshmark
Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintage-Coach-Rambler-Bag-623cafd593649f92d0425028
Comment: I read several reviews on this forum since i purchased regarding Poshmark that made me nervous... The edges of the front tab appear to be a pinky color? Also hoping you could help me identify the staining on the bottom/recommendations on how to clean. Not sure if it's grease marks or mold.

Thanks again!

The bag is authentic. You're correct; the 1 means it was made in 2001. 3 indicates one of the Chinese factories.

Are you able to authenticate this purse? Thank you!!

Sorry, I don't believe it's genuine. The font used in the serial number isn't correct for anything made by the F plant, and that exact font in the fake Station Bag has been found only in fakes. There's also a problem in at least one part of the bag's construction.

It's genuine, from the late 1980s. I think it's a Shoulder Sac, style 9730. Here's a catalog page from 1989, click on the thumbnail to enlarge:

1- genuine, probably mid-1980s. And I have NO idea where you read that "a lot of fakes have shorter straps". That's complete NONSENSE and although I've heard many totally bogus "rules" regarding authenticity, that's the first time I've heard that one. Strap lengths except in very rare cases should never be used to indicate authenticity. Straps with almost any kind of hardware attachment to a bag can be changed.

In fact, many Coaches from the 1970s and 1980s had 2 different strap lengths available, usually a 36-inch and a 44-inch, one length considered standard and the other "optional" or "replacement", which is WHY many Coaches from that time period can have 2 different but CORRECT strap lengths. The straps were usually also available at extra cost in 36 and 44-inch lengths, also noted in the catalogs. That detail is in some but not all the catalogs from that period. So when you're getting information about Coach products, please be sure you're getting it from someone who knows what they're talking about. And wherever you got or heard that information about strap lengths and fakes, please ignore anything else from the same source.

2- genuine Court Bag Spectator

3- genuine, mid 1980s. Please check at the Rehab and Rescue thread, main Coach forum, Coach Clubhouse sub-forum, for information about stains.

Hi Hyacinth,

Thank you so SO much for authenticating and the info about straps, really appreciate it! The vintage rambler's a dream bag of mine, can't wait to get it cleaned up.

The Rambler's a great bag, and probably my favorite vintage style. I love the way it looks.

BTW, I bought mine pre-owned on Ebay and somehow it came with a 48-inch strap. So as I said, don't believe any "rules" you hear about straps. Apparently a previous owner found an extra-long strap that was a perfect match. Since I wear most of my bags cross-body, the extra-long length was perfect. Standard length is supposed to be about 44 inches but some may have the replaceable 36-inch length. If the seller doesn't list the length, don't be afraid to ask.

One thing to be very careful of when buying vintage bags online is to check the strap length and the strap ends very carefully. When the fashion for wearing "shoulder bags" long and hanging straight down to the hip from the shoulder changed to a shorter length tucked under the arm, some owners of older styles with longer straps either managed to find shorter replacement straps, or did the unthinkable and actually cut the ends of the straps and poked extra buckle holes and sometimes messed with the hardware. We've seen some really bad "chop jobs" on older straps and you always need to check and make sure the strap is in original condition and that the length is actually what it's supposed to be or what you need it to be. If you're not sure, have it authenticated here (which you should be doing anyway) and ask us to check and see if the strap has been altered. To confuse things even more, Coach sometimes changed the standard strap length between or even during production runs.
