I agree with @Narnanz… your guys’ knowledge is amazing and helps the newbies (me) out immensely. I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a red city bag… can you please tell me if this one is authentic? Thank you!

I would not buy ANYTHING from that seller, or ANY seller using that photo in their listing.

She's already using a photo of a known fake as her main "modeling" photo. I posted here about that photo less than a month ago! THAT listing was from " visavis2015 " on Ebay.

I have NO trust or respect for any seller who doesn't use their own photos and tries to deceive buyers with photos found on the internet, but it's even worse when their main photo is of an obvious FAKE already used by dozens of sellers ESPECIALLY ON POSHMARK !!!

If her main photo isn't of the actual bag she's selling, can you trust " emerald_fox " on Poshmark to be showing ANY of her own photos? I can't. The other photos of the outside of the bag look fake to me too.

Here's my original post from March 3 showing that same exact photo:

If you or anyone else is using Google Chrome on your computer, right-click the photo above or in that seller's listing and select SEARCH GOOGLE FOR IMAGE" AND YOU'LL FIND A LOT MORE OF THEM. And photo search site Tin-Eye has more:

Shame on that seller, and on everyone else using that photo in their listing. They're deliberately trying to deceive their buyers and I will NOT authenticate their listings, period. Finding a "nice" photo on the internet DOES NOT mean it's free to use in any way you see fit, whether or not it's a photo of a counterfeit item.
Hyacinth, thank you so much. I had no idea she was stealing photos from elsewhere online - and photos of fakes on top of it! How stupid! I’m so glad I asked about the bag. Also, I had never heard of Tin-Eye, a very useful site to know about.

I am going to 1) complain to Poshmark. (Don’t know if it will do any good.) And 2) call her out on her listing in a comment saying that she stole the main photo (I’ll link to Tin-Eye) and that I questioned the authenticity of the bag here on this forum and the experts said that the bag shown in the main photo was a fake.

You and others who are helping with authenticating bags are doing such an important service. I really appreciate it. Thanks again.

1: authentic. In this case, I (month code) is not a problem on this bag. It's not usually used but there are instances where it has been used in error.

2. Poshmark seller michelleye
FAKE!

BeenBurned:

Thanks so much! I was worried about the @Michelleye listing because of the suspect first three digits in the number. If you have time, could you let me know if something in the photos also tipped you off that it was a fake? I’m trying to learn. I will report it to Poshmark.

Now I will feel comfortable trying to get the one from GW. Fingers crossed!

One more Willis authentication request, please, from Poshmark, seller is @emerald_fox. I did not find her reported on in any queries here.

2. Poshmark seller michelleye
FAKE!
I'm not sure whether my authentication of michelleye's listing was lost in the shuffle but if so, I'll say it again.

The bag is 100% fake.

There are details of the bag, i.e., the padding on the front of the bag on the tab that has the female side of the turnlock is incorrect and the creed/serial number has the wrong font for the year and plant where the bag is pretending to have been made.

Reporting fakes to Poshmark doesn't do any good at all. I probably report between 30 to 50 a week and don't remember ANY of them being removed. That's why we DON'T recommend buying from Poshmark sellers. The ones who KNOW their items are fake also know that Posh won't take any steps to remove them unless forced to. Too many other sellers just don't give a damn if they rip off their buyers.

Nope, no collaboration. If anyone wants valid information, they can come here to tPF. If they want lies and BS, there are other sites I can suggest.

tPF MEMBERS WHO FIND MY POSTS, OR ANY OTHERS ORIGINALLY POSTED AT tPF, COPIED AND REPRODUCED AT OTHER SITES ARE ASKED TO CONTACT ME BY PM WITH DETAILS AND LINKS, EVEN IF THE SITE IS "PRIVATE".

THANK YOU!

May I have something clarified please? I have taken screen shots of authentications of the bags I enquired about. Would you consider that a violation? If so I'll delete them. Thank you!
