Help requested in authenticating this purple Chelsea please. I'm suspicious of it, it seems off, but Chelsea is not one of "my" styles, so I can't really say why. Thank you!

Item: purple Chelsea hobo
Where purchased or how obtained: eBay, kiddo bought it,
seller: shagr-14

Comments: hardware is pitting a bit. Definitely leather, soft.

It's authentic.

All three bags are authentic. The multifunction purse with the Willis can't be authenticated without further pictures.

Hi! I would love to second the massive appreciation shared by @indie927 - my first vintage Coach purchase did NOT go well on poshmark and I am so grateful for this forum. I've been learning so much and also humbly realizing how much I have to learn.

I would love some help if it's convenient. I just received this bag today and I'm a little stumped if it is authentic or not. If you have the time, I would love to know your thoughts.

Item: City Bag pre 1994
Listing number:
Seller and site where listed - poshmark
Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintage-Coach-Beige-Crossbody-Leather-Purse-620963cb576006d0aded1c41
Comments: what has me stumped is the leather feels dry to the touch - which would be consistent with the supposed age of the bag. And the back of the turnlock is flat (as seen in the picture I posted) which I *think* is also consistent to a pre- 1994 bag. Otherwise, the stitching looks good to my eyes along with the zipper and pull - but I'm just not feeling confident about reading the creed and determining authenticity.

Much gratitude.

Welcome to tPF.

Everything I can see including the details of the creed and serial number indicates that it's a genuine City Bag style 9790 and was made in the early 1990s. The dry leather could indicate lack of the proper conditioning or a dry climate or a combination of both. Most of the time leather texture is not a good indicator of authenticity because there are too many things that can affect it. The details we use when authenticating are much more accurate, and not affected by outside conditions.

Thank you so much for generously sharing your thoughts and expertise! Now I'm off to give my new friend a dunk and a massage - haha!
