Coach didn't even start using the Springlock closure until around 1990, so that 9853 Binocular Bag would have to be from between 1990 and 1993. Most likely 1991 or 1992 since that's also when Coach briefly used the old 3+4 serial number format again. It's definitely NOT from the 1970s.

First of all, many of the COAs for Goodwill bags, especially if they're issued by Entrupy, aren't worth the paper they're printed on because their tech system isn't based on details that are actually effective for exposing fakes, such as serial numbers. NEVER depend on a Goodwill COA.

WE can't even positively say that particular bag is authentic since there's no photo of the creed stamp and serial number, and with highly faked styles and brands those photos are absolutely necessary.

Hyacinth, thanks very much for your response. The lack of a clear photo of the creed was what made me have doubts, but as I said, I can’t see a nonprofit deliberately trying to pass off a fake. I wrote a note asking for a clear photo of the creed. I’m glad you commented on the unreliability of Certificates of Authenticity. I won’t give them credence from now on. Thanks for your help!

Sorry, it's fake. The plant code "T" isn't valid for any US plant that I've ever seen. It apparently was only used for a very short time by a Costa Rica plant. There;s also a problem with the turnlock.

The strap doesn't look like it matches either.
