I reported this one three days ago and it is still up!

Coach keychains never repeat the same charm, unless there are exceptions I don't know about.

This style ALMOST did, except for the bottom charm - 1603

And 3 charms on the first Breast Cancer Research KF that were a slightly different size, 1734.

Thanks! I knew I could count on you to find some! I had these in my files too. Maybe the rule is they only repeat charms on fobs that have more than 5 charms!

Great- thanks Hyacinth! Would you happen to know what the original price of that one was? I also have another purse I'm unsure about if you don't mind :smile1:

The first one was $278 at the end of 1995.

The second one is also genuine but I never found a name for it, it may have been made for the Factory Outlet stores (MFF - Made For Factory). It looks like an earlier Hippie Flap but has a different style number.

I have a question about letter fobs and there is a specific fob I'd like authenticated as well.

only has the "Made in.." on the hangtag.
It seems like the "Made in.." only appears on plain silver hangtags and letter fobs with these hangtags don't have "Made in..." on the letter.

Hi ladies! I've been lusting over the Coach City Bag for a good two years now, and I was wondering if anyone can authenticate these two bags that I've recently found on ebay :D From the photos that are given, they look authentic to me, but some expert opinion is greatly appreciated.

So you actually think Coach is going to be consistent with their stamping? You actually believe in RULES ??? TSK TSK - I thought we taught you better than that. :graucho:

All of them look ok to me BUT -

Don't forget, Initial Charms were made for a long time and the silver hardware styles had 2 or 3 different production runs, each several years apart. That's why none of the ones above are 100 percent positive authentifications, I don't have all the photos and don't know the years, and I'm NOT going to drive myself either crazy OR blind by trying to find every single one. (The same holds for most wallets, there are too many close copies and the newer ones are just too easy to fake - we can't always authenticate eveything).

If someone has the genuine ones for comparison, they're welcome to take a look. If the chains and hangtags are right, they're PROBABLY genuine. Picture Frame keyfobs and Initial charms to me anyway are two of the least interesting keychain/charm styles and I never really paid much attention to either one.

CORRECTION - I have one or two stamped on the leather, the other three have a stamped hangtag. The ones stamped on the leather are usually the earlier versions.

Thank you. Since the fob from rosemerrily doesn't have "made in..." anywhere, the hangtag may not be original to the fob. She may have taken it from another fob.

I'm not crazy about the letter fobs but they sure seem to sell high. I did buy one for my daughter. Hopefully it will keep her from borrowing my fobs. She couldn't understand why I wouldn't lend her my favorite fobs!

I'm not a fan of rosemerrily and I'm not sure whether her charm has all original parts.

I believe the X is style 8153 and looks good but the stock photo (not conclusive) appears to show a silver hangtag. The chain links also don't look thick enough and I can see the break at the seams. (Note that hers is the only one where the break shows.) In keeping with her alleged pattern of adding to charms and keychains and butchering them, I believe this is a case of doing the same.

thanks. Maybe the rule can be that 100% of the charms won't be identical.

Thank you. Doesn't it seem like too much work to start with an authentic "x" and put it on a non-Coach chain?

I've looked at some of my charms, including some I bought directly from Coach, and they also have breaks at the top of the rings. However I think the shape of the rings on rosemerrily's charm are more elongated. I don't know if this is a fair comparison as my charms were made several years later.

LOL! The reason why vak1 removed the listing was because someone by the name of Ben Burned posted on the listing that "I'm sorry to tell you that this bag wasn't made by Coach."

Apparently, that's considered to be defamation because this is the description posted on the newly relisted item:
dtpmhvbsmffsz.cloudfront.net/posts/2015/06/03/556fd9367f0a051b1a01e0bf/m_556fd94051e9ea7dea01e205.jpg

Some keychain links have gotten more elongated over the years, and the breaks in the rings have also gotton more obvious. The entire production process has become sloppier and lazier, just like with other Coach products. I came this close to buying a Rhyder Messenger during the Semi-Annual Sale but after reading some of the comments posted here about careless construction and glue where it shouldn't be, I hit the Back button. That's NOT what I'd call "Luxe craftsmanship" - makes me wonder why there aren't any reviews posted on Coach's website.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
From a local thrift...not GW for a change :)
Apprix. 9.25"w x 6.75" h x 2"d. Strap 11.5" to sides.
A 1997 Ergo Small #9020?
Thanks in advance!
