For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:

Thank you and be safe!

 the font?! Oh good grief...where might I find more information on the fonts?

There is no publicly available information about that anywhere. The only reason we can compare them is because over the years we authenticators here at tPF have saved photos of as many examples as possible of both genuine and fake creeds and serial numbers in our own personal files for comparison. Without that kind of library, no one can even pretend to be a qualified authenticator because they'd be missing a huge mass of detailed information and photos that can show what's real and what isn't.

Anyone who calls themselves a Coach authenticator and doesn't bother to research and collect that information doesn't deserve the title, and that includes the companies that claim to authenticate "by computer" as well as the fly-by-nights who think that all that's needed to make someone an "authenticator" is buying or selling experience and who can't be bothered to do any actual research.

As for information available on random internet websites, read my Signature that appears in purple letters under every one of my posts. Most "information" available on the internet isn't worth the electrons is takes to post it. Here's a copy, in case whatever OS or app you may be using doesn't show the Signature:
"Ignore any "Rules" you find in those useless online Authenticity Guides, they're almost ALL wrong - outdated, only true for a few styles, partly true only for a few years, or were never true in the first place, including the ridiculous YKK Zipper Rule. YKK zippers on a Coach DON'T prove it's genuine. Coach has used at least TEN different brands of metal, nylon, and even plastic zippers including several unmarked styles, anyone can buy genuine YKK zippers, and many fakes have FAKE YKK zippers. How hard is it to fake a zipper? "

The Salearea Guides posted here at tPF include accurate and updated information.

Holy smokes! I apologize!
Thank you so much for the information!
I appreciate your time,
Claudia

It doesn't affect the bag's authenticity, but the seller accidentally included a photo in the listing that doesn't belong to the City Bag being listed. It shows 2 seams on the base, one on each end, instead of a single center seam. The other photos seem to be correct.

OK, well now I am 2 for 2 now. Are any of these real? They are all on my watchlist to purchase or bid on. I promise this is the last ones for today because my brain is tired from trying to figure all this out. Sorry to be a nuisance today!

I've tried here for more info but none of the links work anymore.

Those links are very old and much of the posted information is outdated. Don't depend on old information, there are more up to date places here to find what you're looking for. It's better to just ask about a specific item instead of digging through posts that may be 10 years old or older. Coach changes details often and new information that we find sometimes invalidates old information that was posted here years ago. And tPF sometimes cleans out very old posts just to make more space.

All the bags you asked about are authentic.

1- genuine Legacy Small Zip from 2000

2- genuine Prairie bag (no "saddle") from 1996

3- genuine Patricia's Legacy from 1994

4- genuine Court Bag, 1996

Thanks for the info! I just hate to have to ask if I can find the info for myself first.

Hi Authenticators!
I am planning to sell this from my collection and noticed the serial # being unusual. Would you please authenticate this item for me? Thank you so much for your expertise in advance!

Item: small plaza bag
Where purchased: thrift store years ago

would you mind messaging me the listing when it’s up? Thanks!

I have a question, it’s kinda off topic. I am going to be starting my job at Coach soon and was wondering besides reading about authenticating bags is there a page that shows every bag style over the past few years.

I know a chunk of the bags but I want to do well at my job and climb the ladder eventually so I’d appreciate any help that can point me to any reading material.

I’m also still hunting for pink rogue bags if you come across any real ones id love to see them

Not that I know of, at least not available to the public. There might be an employees-only website with that information.

What you might consider doing is checking out the "Your new Coach: a mini-reveal" thread in the main Coach forum, where members show us their new purchases. Start from the most recent posts and photos and work backwards from that.

You'll get photos and opinions from real customers about the bags, the company, how customer do and don't like to be treated, etc.

In addition to what Hyacinth suggests, if you have the time, you can explore many of the more recent popular styles:
  • go to the main page of the Coach Forum, and under Normal Threads look for threads named for individual bags, seasons or collaborations, like: Coach Tabby Collection, Coach X Jean Michel Basquiat, Coach X Peanuts, etc.
  • in the Coach Clubhouse subforum, there are threads devoted to Cassie, Beat Bag and Rogue and other relative new bags
  • in the Coach Shopping subforum, in the thread Involuntary Ban Support Group there is a lot of chat on popular and newly released styles.
Best of luck at your new job and if the intern who monitors social media brings up tPF and my user name, just say you don't know me
