I just found this site while trying to find a Coach bag on ebay. I'm watching several and now I'm afraid to bid very much after seeing this site!

My current situation is this: I tried to print the "Ways to authenticate a Coach" that I found here, but I'm not being able to print it. Only the first page I print has any info on it, which only takes me to the top of the photo of the first handbag. I don't know if this is something the forum isn't wanting printed or if it's by chance the way my computer/printer is set up. (I'm verrrry computer illiterate except for basically going to websites)

I noticed on ebay there's an Informational Guide for sale showing how to tell an authentic Hermes from a fake. Does anyone offer this, or something I can print, for a Coach?

thanks for the help! Rita

just post any purses you're interested in in the 'authenticate this coach' forum (not this forum, this is for general questions and it's not usually as popular). either copy the pics over or give the link to the listing. these girls are good and they can tell you either way

I was questioning a bag I bought a few years ago on Ebay, did the drilldown and I've got a match. Everything else points to authentic. Thanks for this info.

I don't know if this is the appropriate thread to ask this, BUT...

If the majority of keychains etc on ebay are "probably" fake...what are the indications here? What do we look for when scoping out an authentic chain or charm?

some of it's hard to say, really. go to coach.com and familiarize yourself with the real ones- you can see the quality in those...the ones on ebay, for the most part, look cheap and sloppy.

and there are a LOT of "coach" keychains on ebay that are cartoons/disney characters/hello kitty/etc....ALL fake. coach never affiliated themselves with those brands.

keyfobs are tricky- they really are. best to just post in the authenticate this! thread- one of us should probably know.

The best thing other than asking at the Authenticate This thread is to buy a few directly from Coach and keep them handy to compare. Coach.com also has a nice Zoom feature on their Accessories page - look closely at the details of items on the site, especially the little metal hangtags, and compare them to the ones at Ebay. The differences will become pretty clear with a little practice and a good magnifying glass.

This is what a REAL hangtag for most Coach keychains should look like - pay attention to the details!

This is why I only buy at the boutique, outlet or Macy's. I've tried to buy on Ebay but all I see, honestly, are fakes. Even the shoes...

I have been hunting for a COACH Black Signature Stitched Hobo Bag (Style No. 10483), but I have seen so many with the pattern all 'wonky'.

For example:

and...

http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTH-COACH-SIGNA...QQcmdZViewItem

It screams fake to me, but other than the fabric, it looks real to me.

Was there something odd with this design of bag or all the ones I am seeing ALL fakes?

BTW... I did see one I have been eyeing too....

Thanks ya'll for your opinions :)

The 10483's have the C's lined up correctly on whatever side of the bag Coach considers the front, but the C's on the back don't follow the rule. If you look at the most trusted sellers on Ebay, theirs are the same way. It seems like a stupid decision by Coach, but that's the way it is. It makes it even more important to have someone else look at the bag before you bid.
