Hello,
Here are a few vintage bags I need help with. Found at my local thrift store.I know one is supposed to be a station bag, but the other 2 I could not find similar items. I really appreciate this site- I’ve learned sooo much- thanks!

The creeds and serial numbers are all from genuine bags but there's no way to identify them without more and better photos and measurements. If you need names, please post them at the ID This Coach thread in the main Coach forum and include the needed photos and information. Since all of the bags are the same color, please separate the individual bags with some sort of break or text.

Sorry to bother everyone about this again, but I was just poking my nose around…is this the bag that is actually the ‘Penny’ (or would it be Penny Dinky?) from the 70s that is constantly misused? Aren’t they on the rare side?

@whateve is probably the best person to answer your question.I don't have any information about the Penny except that AFAIK there was no style called a Penny Dinky.

Nor is there a Penny Pocket! (Not to be confused with Polly Pocket, the toy.)
Lol! Very aware of that fortunately!
No, my questions line up with a series of posts I found on Purse Forum dating back to 2013 and a style verified by a Jed Winokur of the Coach Archives. He said in his letter it was a vintage early 1970s Penny and that the style came before the Dinky.

The bag we have looks almost identical, including the seams. I’m wondering if it is this Penny he refers to?
It just changes things a bit for us and our client.

I wish I was more tech savvy. I’d link the posts. They were very informative. They were in this thread I believe.

I've never seen evidence of a penny in any vintage catalog. There is no bag in the Bonnie Cashin archive called a penny. As far as I can remember penny was a term Coach started using in connection with the 2012 Legacy collection. More recently they referred to the pocket purse as a penny because the name is cuter.

The first mention I have of a dinky is the small shopper tote designed by Bonnie Cashin. That was later called the dinky tote. The small flap bag called a dinky was introduced in 1973, according to recent information posted on the Coach website. Your bag was made later than that, probably late 70s, as it has a creed and number. I believe that all others I've seen with the grommets were pre-creed. We have no catalogs that show the version with the grommets but we have always assumed it was the same style, just a minor variation. Other styles had the same kind of grommets and they didn't change the names of those when they changed the way the strap attached.

Thank you for going through all of this. It helps clarify things.
