Good morning! May I please get an authentication?

Item: Companion flap bag
Seller: Neighbor
Listing: Neighborhood private group
Measurements are 6.5 inches wide and 7.5 tall.
Comments: Shouldn't the strap drop be longer? Only 21 inches? I paid $5 for it so I won't be devastated if it's fake but I will be ecstatic if it's real.

It's at least 11 or 12 years too old to be a Companion Flap. Compact Pouch, style 9620 IIRC, genuine and from the early to mid 1980s. The Compact Pouch page lists the strap as being 45 inches total, so subtracting the inch or two on each end that's actually below the top of the bag, a 21-inch strap drop sounds just about right.

Hyacinth - Love your wealth of knowledge and I love knowing how old my new purchase is. Thanks for the catalog pic - those are fun to see.

So, the Campanion Flap has the adjustable strap, correct?

Item: Springlock Brown Bag, USA (circa 1990?)
Seller: Salvation Army Store ($26)
Dimensions: 11" wide, 7.5" tall, 3" deep

Comments: Please give an opinion about authenticity and help me to identify and date this bag. I doesn't look like other springlock bags that I've seen such as the Chrystie or the Crosby, thank you!
