Hello all,
I'm looking to identify a style and authenticate this British tan satchel from depop before purchasing. The seller is Sheela Na Digs. The creed image is a screenshot of a video, so if I need to ask the seller for a better image, I will.
Screenshot_20210725-155131.pngScreenshot_20210725-160833.pngScreenshot_20210725-155253.png

I've looked through lots of other threads trying to find a style but came up empty.

The dimensions from the seller are "apx: 11” long x 7”wide x 3” depth at bottom and 2”depth at the top"

Thank you in advance!

DO NOT BUY from that seller if he or she is claiming that the creed photo belongs to the other bag in the photos. The serial number in the photo shows style number 9944 which is called a Taylor Zip and is the purse shown in this 1994 Coach catalog photo. As you can see, it doesn't look anything like the item in the photo. The seller may have just searched online for another tan Coach without realizing the significance of those serial numbers.

And if she has the bag in her possession, why would she have to take a screenshot of a video? Why not just take a photo of the bag itself?

Thank you! I was the one who took the screenshot. The only time the creed was shown in the listing was in the video attached to the listing (I guess you can add a video on depop?) I tried to link to the listing directly, but the link appears to only work if you have the app: https://depop.app.link/sSic5yBObib

The video is the last image and will start playing automatically when you get to it. If you can't view the listing, it is a clip showing the hang tag, the seller unzipping the bag and you can see the top handles and then showing the creed inside. Super weird!

I've been watching the listing for a few days pondering it, because I came up with the Taylor bag as well for that number. If you still say no, I'm not getting it.

I don't use Depop or their app and their photos don't work with my browser so the link doesn't help, thanks anyway.

Not only doesn't that bag look familiar, but I'm seeing several red flags in the last photo. The rivets holding the strap aren't correctly centered on the strap end, they're obviously off-center. And the two ends of the strap in that photo aren't sewn the same way. There's no reason I can see for them to have different sewing patterns. A Coach factory would never have made straps like that.

Look carefully, the the end of the strap on the right side is very different. That strap was NOT made or attached by Coach!

ETA - and the ends of the strap on the other side of the bag don't match either! Those straps may have been made and attached by a leather repair shop or even a shoemaker.

Not only doesn't that bag look familiar, but I'm seeing several red flags in the second photo. The rivets holding the strap aren't correctly centered on the strap end, they're obviously off-center. And the two ends of the strap in that photo aren't sewn the same way. There's no reason I can see for them to have different sewing patterns. A Coach factory would never have made straps like that.

Thank you for replying again. I wasn’t trying to be contrarian, I just wanted to make sure my original post was clear. I definitely see where that bag is fishy and I’ve learned more about Coach bags in the process. I guess I’ll keep an eye out for a Baxter to fulfill my longing for a satchel.

I’m so glad I consulted the experts. Everyone here (authenticators especially) are an invaluable resource! Thank you again! You’ve helped me dodge two fakes before purchase.

Hi I'm new here and considering buying my first Coach purses and just wanted to make sure theyre the real deal. I hope I did this correctly. Thank you for your help in advance!

Giving this a BUMP.
Both bags seem fine.

But it's always a good idea to have Goodwill listings looked at (with or without COAs) because they often have fakes deemed as authentic.
