Genuine USOC Waist Pouch, style number 658. The USOC items had unusual serial numbers that didn't follow the standard 1995-96 format, they used the style number as the first half of the serial number and didn't use any date or plant codes. We've seen a few fakes so they should all be authenticated.

There's never been a strong market for them, which is a bit surprising. Maybe it's because of the tragic bombing that most people remember about the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta.

There were only two pages of items in the Holiday 1995 catalog at least in the digital version I have, along with a few other styles that didn't make it into that catalog. That's the only one I have with Olympic items:

Wow I just did some more research on that bombing in Georgia at the Olympics. I saw the movie Richard Jewell. Now I understand the history behind. This should definitely be a collectors piece.

It's fake. And a badly-made fake too. I'm seeing a lot of small problems with the stitching and construction (look at the outside of the strap, the stitches on one side don't even match the other side! And that's on the OUTSIDE of the strap, not the inside), the serial number has an invalid code, and except for Bonnie Cashin styles, I only know of one style of pre-China vintage leather Coach that was even close to that shade of pink. It's not a color Coach used until around 2002 or 2003 AFAIK. It also looks like at least one piece of hardware doesn't have a detail that it should have.

Always be careful with "Coach" items in unusual colors that you've never seen before. Counterfeiters made a lot of fakes in colors that Coach never produced during the time period those fakes were supposedly made.

I added a few more details and photos. And no, I've never seen it either. Coach never made that color in the 1990s. And a bag with such a poorly-sewn strap wouldn't have even been allowed to leave the plant.
