I'm self-authenticating today (and really showing off my score!). I found these three in a thrift store for $15 each. Snatched them up!! I'm sharing "after the bath" photos. One brown, one black, one navy. All beautiful condition. I haven't done anything at all to any of them (yet)View attachment 5102599View attachment 5102600View attachment 5102601 except give them a bath.
Nice score! But I am curious as to why you choose to self-authenticate? I've been buying and rehabbing coach bags for about a decade and I still always ask the expert authenticators here on TPF for their opinions. I've been fooled a few times and I sure wouldn't want to invest a lot of time and effort into rehabbing a fake!
I was kind of joking! The point I was trying to make: quality shines, and there was ZERO doubt in my mind that these are authentic. Everything about them. So, so beautiful. I'm new to this forum and to the idea of Coach Rehab (which is where I should have posted this). If I do have a question on authentication, I'll ask. Other than that, I'll seek and find the appropriate place to discuss. Sorry again for the goof in posting it here. I tried to delete it, but couldn't find the edit button.
I'd venture to bet that most (if not all) of the authenticators and experienced Coachies have bought (unknowingly) "high quality" bags that turned out to be fake.

You're more than welcome to do your own authentications but for my hard-earned money, I prefer to have other eyes look at items if there's any possibility that it might be fake. And for the price of what we charge here, it's a pretty darned good deal!

JMHO.

ETA: I'm not implying that there are any red flags in the pictures you showed. But since those pictures don't show the details necessary to determine authenticity, we can't judge them at all.
Much appreciated!

It's totally your choice but I just want to mention that the Winnie bag at the link below recently sold for $176 (and it came with a Certificate of Authenticity) but it's a fake!

Hello authenticators. What can you tell me about this lightweight leather Town Bag?
Item: Blue Large Town Bag
Seller: wnklm3ed

Thanks!

For starters, the seller has some of his/her "facts" wrong.

The style number was ALWAYS 4095. Coach assigned numbers before the item went into production. It would have been foolish to do it any other way.

Serial number 0160-015 would have been made in the early 1990s, not the 1980s. (That's what happens when sellers use inaccurate or Never-correct-in-the-first-place "guides" and then have to scramble the facts to make them fit the "guides". See my Signature in all my posts).

Both Town Bags, 4090 and 4095, are shown as NEW in the 1989 Spring Preview catalog.

Since that particular example was made in the early 1990s, there's no proof that it was made in the New York plant. Coach added at least one more plant in 1988 when the Made in NYC creeds were changed to Made in the United States and Made in U.S.A - that's WHY the creed stamps' "Made In ..." lines had to be changed. By the early 1990s when that bag was made there were at least 2 and possibly 3 plants operating in the United States and one of its territories, Puerto Rico, and at least 4 by the end of 1994, since there were 4 "Made in the United States" plant codes by then. (Coach had also opened a plant in Italy in the early 1990s). That was the year when the plant codes began to be added to the serial numbers. All we know for sure about them was that Miami might have been one of them, probably B or C. New York City of course was A.

So - genuine, early 1990s, place and exact year unknown but between 1990 and 1993 and in the continental US or one of its territories, style 4095, and be ready for the possibility that it's not the exact same color Blue shown in the photos. Blues sometimes don't photograph well. That particular shade of Teal Blue shown in the photos I'm seeing isn't in any early 1990s catalog for the Lightweight line.

Is that enough information?

NOT a Janice's Legacy, but it's genuine. It was called a Legacy Zip and was made in 1999.

Item: Legacy Glove Eggplant Leather Ergo
Listing number: 384198879126
Seller and site where listed: aabel1968 on eBay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/384198879126
Comments: I would also like to know if the color name is correct.

Thank you.

It's genuine, from 1998. The only dark-ish purple shade I can find from that year is Ink as a Fall and Winter color. I don't remember "Eggplant" ever being used as a color name for any vintage (20 years old or more) bags.

Item: Emery in the color Elm (larger size)
Selling platform: online from someone

Comments:
My friend gifted me the Coach Emery in Elm color (larger size) that I've been looking for. She bought the bag in excellent used condition from someone online but some details about the bag are raising my suspicions (some examples listed below). I attached a bunch of photos; would greatly appreciate if someone can confirm authentic or not. Thanks in advance!
  • The genuine pebbled leather smells weird to me (different smell from my Cashin 22)
  • The stitching at the top ends near buckles are sticking out (you can see it in the attached pictures)
  • The hang tag fell off after I took it out from dust bag on the 2nd day. Stitching on the hang tag also isn't the best.
  • Tarnished hardware even though seller claims to have used it only a handful of times
