I am so, so tired of people who claim to be an expert authenticator because they own "several REAL Coach purses." Can you direct her here so we can explain to her that small bags often don't have creeds and if they don't, they usually have a "made in xxx" tag.

Also send her this link: http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coach-Authenticity-Guides-Facts-and-Myths-/10000000062607882/g.html

BTW, I was on the phone yesterday with ebay and they told me that if a buyer claims counterfeit, they won't remove the defect as they don't get involved in authenticating. However, I was able to get a defect removed by pointing to the messages in the return request in which the buyer agreed she was wrong.
Thank you so much ladies!
And thanks for the link to the guides, I was going to ask for that as well.

It's fine. J63 would be worrisome but this one is J6C. I would be leery of sellers who say they polish bags. If they used shoe polish, it is really hard to clean off. The exterior leather looks like it doesn't match the leather on the interior.

You're right, the creed wasn't that clear to me. And I agree, I don't want anyone to polish any part of a bag I'm considering. Thanks for the input & your knowledge is appreciated.

Sorry, but could you please specify if MY bag is authentic or not?
THanks again.

PS - Could you please verify that my bag (specifically) is authentic?

Thank you! I was pretty sure they were but then she listed a fake a week or so ago so I got worried. I couldn't find any pictures of the telephone for comparison. Do you have style numbers for any of them?
#1 (leather phone) is 92007
#2 (Pave fruit keychain) is 92715
#3 (She has the style number in the listing) 92745

Good evening ladies!
I am requesting an authentication on one of my auctions since the buyer requested a refund as she believes it to be counterfeit.

YOUR BAG IS AUTHENITC!!

*sigh* I wish buyers would learn about their items before buying and before accusing sellers of listing/selling/sending fakes.

I wouldn't have replied as I did if it wasn't authentic.

Thank you! Duh, should have looked at the listing. Most of the time she doesn't have them.

J is worrying but not in Costa Rican creeds. It is authentic. The snap further confirms it. I don't have this style in my files.

Thank you Whateve! I can't find a name for it either. There are a few listed on eBay with the same construction and size, but they're all smooth leather with a different style number. There are two that are pebbled leather like mine, but neither have creed photos, so I've asked the sellers for those to see if they're Made in Costa Rica as well.

Hopefully Hyacinth will know. It looks similar to the Hudson collection, like this one, which you can see was also made in Costa Rica: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-C...298?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f2ed052ea
They looked a lot of Sonomas but weren't made very long. It almost seems like they were just trying to use up the Sonoma leather. But yours is unlined so it might be unrelated. There are a lot of oddball styles that start with "6."

Can someone please take a look at this backpack I found while thrifting? The letter J is always concerning...Thanks in advance for any comments.

I don't have anything on it either, but the details seem genuine.

Thank you!

And I'll back up the other authentications. Your Horse And Carriage bag is genuine.

As for your buyer's comments - she's wrong on every point.

Coach has been putting Made in China tags inside their Made in China bags and accessories for at least 10 years and probably more. And they actually started making bags in China some time around 1995, and accessories even earlier.

Smaller bags like Top Handles are considered accessories and some accessories have creeds and serial numbers, some just have creeds with NO numbers, and some have neither. What each accessory or bag gets it entirely up to Coach.

Sorry you got stuck with a buyer who refuses to do any research and who thinks that owning "several" of Coach's bags out of the more than THIRTY-THREE THOUSAND different purse and accessory bag style numbers currently in Coach's history and archives (and that's not counting wallets!) makes her an instant expert.

Maybe she can take over for BeenBurned and Whateve and myself and handle all these authentications at tPF too? Heaven knows we all could use a few weeks off. Yes, that was sarcasm. Maybe she also thinks that removing a splinter from someone's finger qualifies her to perform brain surgery.

My sympathies, you don't deserve that kind of buyer.

Welcome to the purse forum!
It's authentic. I have this bag and it is gorgeous. The color was called cognac.
We have a duffle clubhouse for this style. http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/legacy-duffle-clubhouse-776561.html

Hello All,

I received my legacy duffle today which I had authenticated here. However, I'm not sure if what I received is authentic. I'm attaching photos for your review. Here is the original listing for reference: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Legac...3egaHmaGtjI7JS6C3MzTQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

1. The "cognac" bag is smaller than my vermillion duffle that I purchased from Coach.com.

2. The leather looks and feels significantly different than my vermillion duffle. The "cognac" feels like plastic.

3. The listing states that it is new and unworn, but I found slight wear on the bag corners and on the inside of the inner zipper pocket, there was sand/dirt/crumbs.

4. The bag wasn't even sent in a decent package-it was shipped inside a coach dustbag in a plastic shipping bag. (see photo)

5. I attached a photo of the creed inside the "cognac" bag for reference.

6. The actual bag's measurements don't match the ebay listing.

Please help! Can you all please re-confirm if it is authentic or not? Please let me know if you need to see more photos. I appreciate everyone's help. Thank you.
