Did Coach ever make tennis racket cases? Someone in a group I’m in has this and wondered if it was real. I don’t like the way the creed is stitched, and I think the stripe is crooked, but I’m not sure. The creed and especially the serial number details are the same as another item in my files made in the same plant, month and year. I don't see any problems.

Thanks @BeenBurned.
Do you know if it ever came in currant?
It's hard to tell the color because the pictures of the exterior look mahogany but the creed photo looks like British tan. But AFAIK, both those colors had brass/gold hardware.

Maybe someone else might know if the bag came in another color with silver hardware.
I don't know if it ever came in currant, but I do have a Casino that's mahogany with nickel hardware. I don't have the catalog handy, but I remember seeing a number of bags in the early 2000s that were made in the mahogany/nickel combination. The Tango is the only other bag made in this color combination that I can remember off the top of my head.

I have been watching a number of bags on ebay that I need to get out from under my skin. This first one is color related only. Love the deep, dark brown. The seller added other creed photos at my request, but mentioned that the creed is very faded.

Thank you for your help--once I know it's authentication status I hope to either move on it or delete it.

I know that the embellishments on this one are recent, but I want to confirm that this is a genuine, older Coach. The seller is not the most communicative but I think it may be a Helen's Legacy (9953)

Dear authenticators, I started polishing the dirty hardware this morning when I had an unpleasant light bulb moment. Purchased locally, there wasn't a listing.

Could you kindly authenticate even though the horse has already escaped the barn? I won't list the tell tale indicators and help future fakers. MTIA :hugs:

PS. Lesson learned.

Sorry, it's fake. But I think you already knew that.

Genuine, but NOT a Helen's legacy, it's too early. The serial indicates late 1980s (or maybe even a 1992-93 bag with an old serial number) and the Helen's Legacy wasn't introduced until 1994.

Without measurements and with all the additions I can't tell what it is. If you buy it and still need the name, please post back with measurements.

ETA - My guess would be a 9085 Duffle Sac. It's alread a heavy bag in original trim, but all those embellishments, leather AND studs, are going to add a LOT of extra weight, maybe 25 or as much as 40-50 percent more. Please keep that in mind, it looks like a back-breaker.
