I'm planning to buy this coach handbag via yahoo japan auction but I wanna make sure first whether it's original/fake and is it possible to know it is made for boutique/factory outlet. Thanks in advance.

FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
Item: MADISON SHOULDER BAG IN SIGNATURE CANVAS
Listing number:
Seller and site where listed: Toakisan / Japan
Link: https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/q448381717
There's a whole thread about a HUGE ring of Japanese sellers on various sites with very close fakes. (The thread has not been updated recently because of the issue is so pervasive and involves so many sellers and so many sites that it's impossible to keep current)

To add insult to injury, the prices of the fakes are several times what you could get it for if purchased from a US seller.

Although the thread was begun nearly 2 years ago, the problem not only persists but has gotten worse.

Seller gagany (Be sure to include seller ID with requests.)

I'm not comfortable with this listing.
Thank you!! Neither was I. I noticed this seller has come up a few times on this forum.

Thanks for the reminder to include the seller name, I had went to confirm the spelling but must have forgotten to actually put it in the post.

Much thanks!!
Hmm. YES!! This confirms my earlier suspicions that gagany is connected to colleenk415 , cierraluv2shop (who seems to be either NARU or changed her ID) and randiesstuff (now NARU). All are from the same geographic area and all had items that claimed to be samples.

This 6 year old post outlined it (in way more detail than I should have wasted the time to do):

ETA:
LOL! And true to form, GAGANY (like her alter egos) also sells items as "samples" that are questionable at best:

Crikey, the fakers are REALLY getting lazy! I don't remember ever seeing a "sample" serial that was all zeros before.

Item: Legacy Straw Tote (China, 2005; 113)
Where purchased: Goodwill ($10)
Comments: If you need more photos or a better creed picture just let me know and I'll get some more. I'm pretty sure it's authentic but I would appreciate your expert opinions because I have been fooled before, thank you!

Dear Authenticators, if anyone available to have a look, I'd appreciate it. I'm not even sure if there is enough info here in this listing to authenticate.

Item: Coach maroon purse
Listing number: NA
Seller and site where listed: mallison58 , Poshmark

Comments: I think it is what they call the Park Swingpack sold at the outlets few years back - so these I think have no creed patches inside. I usually see this a bit more than this online, I'd say 40-50 and up, depending on condition, so it is suspiciously cheap. So the seller either doesn't now what he/she is selling or trying to pass a fake - that was my thinking.

A related question: are there a lot of fakes of the styles sold at the outlets?

Follow up on my earlier request about the purse I believe is a Coach Park Swingpack sold at the outlet store.

I received the bag - and to me everything looks fine. Other than the transparent "Made in Vietnam" tag there is absolutely nothing sewn inside the bag; I wish Coach would put a style number or something inside even the small items.

The tag attached is not the usual Coach fob but a metal tag - never seen it before.

I am posting some pictures I took (the seller did not post many) - if any of the authenticators could have a look I'd appreciate it. I got some responses earlier from @whateve and @BeenBurnt who looked at the seller's pictures - those raised no concerns.

Thank you again so much!

It looks good! What's bad is that there are some small bags or wristlets that have absolutely no Coach markings on them at all. If we didn't recognize the style and the type of label, we wouldn't know it was Coach.

Yes, I wonder why Coach is not doing more to make their smaller products more identifiable.

Such a cute little purse, needs some cleaning but I'm happy :-)

This is one of those items that has nothing on the bag identifying it as Coach. Hangtags and charms are removable or get lost and unless one knows the brand, they might not realize what they have. While I've found some great deals (for my own use), I don't recommend buying for resale because you might get a buyer who doesn't believe it's Coach and accuses you of selling a fake.

As for Coach not making their items more identifiable, they probably do it on purpose. They don't want people buying from ebay, thrift stores or other third party sellers. They want you to buy directly from them. That way, there's no concern about authenticity.

What they don't understand or they choose to ignore is that not all buyers want a brand new current item. And for items no longer in stock or for items that are decades old, the secondary market is the only option.
