Yes, they did and she also stated this: Buckle had no Coach, but made in England - dead giveaway, sloppy stitching, no zipper etc. I have a bunch of vintage bags so I know an authentic one.
The buckle shouldn't say Coach. Are you saying you disagree with my assessment that the bag is authentic?

ETA: We have seen authentic courier bags made in the same era as yours that say made in England on the buckle. Coach didn't make their own hardware. They bought it from manufacturers who put their own stamp on it. I stand by my authentication. The bag is authentic.

Good Morning Authenticators,
Can you help me with this Taft? I've been eyeing it but It seems off...quality, color, and creed is hard to read.

Item: Taft bag T6F-9980
Listing number:
Seller and site where listed: Tifftreats/ Mercari
Link:
Comments: I searched your site for this seller and the serial number-the same serial was flagged in the hall of shame by a different seller but the link to the photo is gone. Thank you in advance!
I am one of thoes coach addicts huntig for treasures and also the person who listed the item on Mercari. I bought the same item on Mercari less than a month ago. Unfortunately I did not know about this forum at the time and thought I was purchasing an authentic bag. I have submitted a case with Mercari for my purchase, but I am curious to know what it means when you say that you mean when you say that you will report me.
Your listing was reported as counterfeit and it appears to have been removed.
@Tbillups - Is this the listing from which you purchased the fake bag?
seller M1977

What is Mercari's policy when you've received a fake? If you can't open a dispute through Mercari, can you file with either Paypal (if you used it) or with your credit card company?

No... The listing that I purchased was this one: https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m47678041109/
I have been trying to put an inquiry in with Mercari to get a refund but it won't go through. I am getting a message to try back in a few minutes.

I am not disagreeing with your assessment at all... I was glad to hear the news.. I just copied and pasted what the potential buyer sent me so that you could see her reson for saying that it was not authentic. I asked about an official certificate so that I won't have problems selling it in the future and would have proof in case it is questioned.

Hi Tbillups- I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you can resolve it with Mercari. Regarding the report, it is a report to the site about the item. Most platforms have a button somewhere at the bottom, that you click on to report an item as counterfeit. After I wrote to you, I clicked on that button. Based on what I've read here, depending on how strict the platform is, the listing gets taken down and the seller gets some form type warning.

I hope you aren't confusing the two bags. The courier is authentic, the Taft is fake.

These awesome authenticators volunteer their time for this free service, so I don't know that you can get a certificate here on the purse forum. The authentication services that give certificates usually charge money. Some of them like Entrupy don't have good reputations. I paid Authenticate4U once to certify a very pricey duffel. I'm sure some of these ladies can recommend one.
