Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

I did something dumb. Bought a bag off FB without checking here first. Here are the photos she posted. I know they aren’t enough to authentic the bag but I’ll add more when it comes in.

Hello,

Please authenticate the two bags. I purchased two bags on shopgoodwill.com as the link shows. I purchased the bags for the side pack(?). Good bag for phone, mask, etc. If you need additional pictures, please let me know. I am having a problem getting a good picture of the creed in the black bag. Thank you.

No need to explain, we've all been there and done that at one time or another.

The outlet stamp is a good sign, but we still need to see the full creed and serial stamp to be sure. I know it's a PITA to take a pic because the opening is so small, but if you can, that would help. Thanks!

The Signature Poppy Demi is fine. That style and other Poppy items have been faked, but the detailing of the Poppy applique on the genuine ones is so elaborate and time-consuming to get exactly right that the fakes are pretty obvious.

The black one is probably ok, I'm not comfortable with a 100 percent authentication without actually seeing the creed and serial number, there just aren't enough details to prove or disprove authenticity.

Genuine Hamptons Suede Buckle Hobo from 2003. I have a few of those suede brush and "eraser" kits myself. :smile:

Thanks, Hyacinth! I’ll post photos and measurements when I get it. Fingers crossed!

ETA: BTW, we need our own slang for making vintage Coach impulse buys before authentication, usually while not in a good state of mind (drunk, depressed, bored, just plain lazy, etc.). Something that would make the Urban Dictionary! Any ideas anyone?

Thank you. If the sun comes out I will try to get a good picture of the creed for the black one. If not, I will be ok with your 'look-see' as this will become my everyday bag during the pandemic.
