The bag is authentic and the serial number is correct for when and where it was made.

I'm concerned though......the listing says that wovencycle ended the listing early "because the item is no longer available." Why is that? Did you buy it "off" ebay? Did the seller offer a cheaper price if you purchased off-site?
I purchased it, I sent the seller an offer through eBay. They accepted my offer, but I wanted to confirm authenticity before I went forward with paying for the item.

I purchased this vintage coach city bag on eBay. I have yet to pay for it. The serial number seemed off. Can someone please authenticate this.

seller is : wovencycle

serial number is A8M-9790

Is there any other way? I listing had an option to make an offer. The seller accepted it and now I have to pay it through eBay.
Do you know what year the bag is from and if it’s black or navy?

thanks!
It's really hard to tell navy from black. Usually the only way to tell is to put it next to a vintage bag you know is black and see if it looks navy then. Sometimes you can tell by the color of the inside of the pocket. The bag was made in 1998.

Thank you very much! I wonder does all authenticate coach purse, the backside of rivets should be a concave? Also I wonder if the backside of the turnlock has notch is much be fake?View attachment 4975340
Usually with the oval kind of turnlock, there shouldn't be indentations on the back of it. However, it is okay to have indentations on the squarish kind of turnlock used on some briefcases. We don't use this feature alone to determine authenticity because it is always possible the turnlock was replaced by a non-Coach turnlock on an authentic bag. The rivets are usually indented on the backs if they are the original factory rivets. Again, these could have been replaced. I have had to replace rivets on some vintage bags and couldn't find some that were exactly the same as the original. Both of these things are warning flags that a bag might not be authentic, but it is the creed and other details that ultimately determine authenticity.

Authentic city bag

Having never seen the bag/style, I'm not familiar with it but what I saw in your pictures seemed fine. I didn't want to comment until and unless I was sure. I believe that your bag is fine and is a Rhyder crossbody bag in metallic leather, made in 2014.

In my first search, I only found a Facebook listing from a seller in Singapore but her listing showed a picture that was taken in a Coach store (or outlet).

So I did a bit more hunting and got lucky with the Wayback Machine.

ETA: When you list it, be sure to disclose that the strap isn't the original strap that came with the bag and was replaced with a different Coach strap.
@BeenBurned Thank you so much for making such an effort to authenticate her for me.

I am so grateful. Noted re the strap, thank you.

Stay safe

Hi Authenticator Im just wondering if you could help me out in identifying the name and style of these minis so I can research. thanks.
purchased at a private estate sale, thanks.

You've already posted the same question in 3 different threads and no one has answered. That should tell you something.

Those styles are impossible to identify OR authenticate with the one single photo you've posted. Read the READ ME instructions at the top of this page for the information and photos we need to authenticate. Post each item in a separate post. But my advice would be to not waste your time.

I said in another thread that Coach has made dozens of similar styles. Many of them were made for the outlet stores and if there's no serial number inside the item there's no way to find them. If you walk into an outlet store in the weeks before the end of year holidays there are shelves and tables loaded with similar items, Coach makes the same basic designs almost every year. There's been a version of that Khaki Signature wristlet made at least once a year for probably the last 20 years since that fabric was first introduced.

Search Ebay for "Coach fabric wristlet" and look for similar styles and see what they've sold for by clicking on Completed. It won't be much unless they're unusual or limited styles. The numbers in GREEN are the actual selling prices. Even New With Tags wristlet items only sell for between 10 and 40 dollars. You can usually buy them brand new from the Coach Factory store for $40 or less using the in-store coupons they often hand out at the door.

And look at how many are currently for sale just under "coach fabric wristlet" - more than 3000.

Please read the posting instructions, if any, in any thread you're posting in. And please don't post the same question in more than one thread unless instructed to by one of the posters. If no one answers, it's because no one knows or because there's no answer possible with the information you provided.
