Hi everyone!

I have a mystery bag which I'm hoping you guys have any info on.

Item: pre creed bonnie cashin Safari style bag I guess?
Where purchased or how obtained: purchases in America a very very very long time ago, like early 70's.

Comments: the leather is very supple still especially since it hasn't been conditioned, ever.
The turnlocks feels quite a lot thicker than my newer vintage coach bags.
There's no creed or logo besides the hangtag, nothing inside the bag or either of the pockets, no little tag no nothing.
No zipper, little feet on the bottom.

Size (it's a bit squished): w33 cm X h22 cm X d10ish cm.

Thanks!
I'm unable to say if it was made by Coach without any logos on the bag. Hangtags can be removed, and I wouldn't expect to find a hangtag on a pre-creed Bonnie Cashin. Bonnie Cashin Safari bags were lined. Bonnie Cashin Safari bags had a lot of details in construction that are different from your bag. Yours could have been made by another company and was inspired by the Coach safari bag.

I bought it at the listing price then requested authentication. Seller welcome offers, but the price is fair and I don't want to risk losing it either. Now I just hope it is indeed Olive Green, but my gut is telling me it is Forest Green

Glad someone on tpf got it! And yes, I agree (if I didn't already have 4 of these omg!) to the price being fair. Still to high for me, got spoiled at the thrifts during my trips to the states. Let us know which green it is. I hope you enjoy it!!!

At your earlier convenience, thank you.

Comments: I think I am ending the year being duped. Impulse buying because it was pretty and cheap. Not familiar with scarves I thought it was OK based on the packaging, but these tags don't look right to me. Made in China, Printed in Korea?

It's fine, probably from around 2003-ish. The style is 2477 (as shown on the tag) and this is the stock picture.

Hello,

Please authenticate this bag. I think it is a Coach Companion bag. Thank you.

Item: Coach Companion Bag (?)
Listing No.: m16976165849
Seller/Site: HappyChicVintage4U/Mercari
Link: https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m16976165849/

It's authentic, made in 2002.

Just a comment on the seller's beliefs about her items.

In the description, she states that "ALL of my bags are AUTHENTIC and come from a national seller who uses enthrupy technology along with two other technical authenticators so ALWAYS authentic."

As we've seen (and as a search of Entrupy mistakes will confirm), a seller who guarantees authenticity because Entrupy says so doesn't necessarily make it so!

ETA: And the following PROVES my point.
This is a post where an authentication of an item from the same seller,
HippyChicVintage4u was requested:

My response in the following post mentions that fake as well as several others from HippyChicVintage4U.

HippyChicVintage4u might appreciate a heads up about her items and the accuracy of the authentications she trusts! Unless she's responsive, I recommend against buying from her.

Curious about this duffle sac. I think it's Aqua from the 1997 Spring book. The one I have has some fading. I'm not thrilled to buy from Japan.

Hello BeenBurned,

Exactly why I asked for authentication here. I never trust Entrupy. Thanks as always. Happy New Year. I hope 2021 is better and that I can get back into thrift stores. I miss thrifting so much.
