Hi everyone, hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. Would you please authenticate this bag.

Item: Coach Maggie Bag in Tan
Number: M6D-9019
Dimensions: Top is approximately 10" wide. The height is about 7 1/2". When the strap is fully extended, it is about 21 1/2" strap drop. I wanted to find out if this bag was indeed made in 1996. I looked at some photos of catalogs online from that year and couldn't confirm. The question that I always ask myself in the end is "was Coach actually making this bag in the year is says on the creed stamp?" Any insights that you could provide would be appreciated. Thank you! View attachment 4918097View attachment 4918098View attachment 4918099View attachment 4918100View attachment 4918101
You didn't say where you got it or if it is listed online. It's fine. The style was introduced in 1994 and still made in 1996.

Catalogs don't always show everything. Coach probably produced at least 6 and as many as 10 or 12 catalogs in each year of the mid 1990s. And items made exclusively for the factory outlets wouldn't be in the catalogs.

Most of the time the actual details of the bag, creed stamp and serial number are much better authentication tools than the catalogs.

That seems a liitle early for the intro date. The 9019 Maggie Duffle is shown as "New" in my Early Fall 1997 catalog, and I can't find it pictured before then.

ETA - Found it in the Spring 1997 book as "New" too. Nothing in 1994 though.

Thanks for this info. It's good to know because it is hard to do the catalog research piecemeal without having the actual physical catalog in front of me. I'd been relying on photos from online and there isn't much. Still, it's fun to look at the old pictures. It's nice to see the vintage fashions paired with the original bags. Thank you again!

Hello all!
This is part authentication, part discussion. More that I’m just curious for future reference... Here’s a bag with a strange serial number, and I’m wondering your thoughts. The style number is correct, but the pattern for the first three digits is off. Does this ever happen or is it clearly a fake? Thank you!

item: vintage Coach station bag

The bag is an authentic station bag and the font/serial number is correct for the 1999 Turkish #2 plant.

This is one of the reasons why we say that comparisons have to be apples to apples.

Hello I've come across a glovetanned leather Swagger 21 that I would appreciate help in authenticating. Pictures are provided in the link listing.
Item: Swagger 21 It looks like its the color heather grey
Seller is jodi516
Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/Coach-Swagger-21-5f7a54f4163df4c9d7fb577e
Comments: It looks like the number on the creed is J1721-2279 if that matters any.
Are you sure the pictures are all the same bag? In some pictures, the bag looks blue and in others, gray. The background in the last picture is different from the background in the other pictures.

Swaggers are so well faked and Poshmark isn't the safest venue from which to purchase.

I don't feel comfortable with this one.

Other opinions are welcome.
