Sorry, I don't believe it's real. There's no record of that plant code being used at all in 2001. The only place the plant and year codes appear together is in fakes. The wording of the creed is also wrong for a bag from any plant except one in 2001.

My twin clutch had a full NYC creed. I wonder why this one doesn't. Can it be precreed?

It could be an earlier version that was re-released in 1984-85. Or it could be something unusual like a non-functioning creed stamp mechanism that forced them to dig in the boss's bottom drawer for that old outdated Coach logo stamp just to have something to put in the bags.

Purely speculation, like a lot of my "could be's" are. But I like to think of scenarios that could realistically happen in that kind of production facility. Coach was right in the middle of being sold to Sara Lee, and when a plant is facing a new situation like a change of ownership from an employee-centric Mom-and-Pop operation to being swallowed up by a Fortune 500 monster, strange things can happen.

Genuine, from 1994.

DANG IT, GIRL! Once this "RumpVirus" thing is finally over you need to organize a bus trip and tour to all your favorite thrifting spots!
That would be my dream bus tour! Could you imagine! We would all have a blast. I would give our NZ friends first dibs. What would we call the tour? Thank you Hyacinth, for this authentication! (And BTW...I don't pay over 10$ for any)
Since the tour would be by motor coach, you could call it the "Coach To Coaches Tour".
I just knew you were going to come up with a great name!
If more than one of us wanted the same bag, this would be us!

Can someone authenticate this? I'm trying to see if I've got ahold of a shady seller on ebay because I bought a wallet that's kate soade and they shut down the thread so my only hope now is to see if the other items they have sold are authentic....
Please post the seller's ID.

seller gqmanstuff

The seller appears to be a thrift store shopper who flips her finds. I don't see any problems with other Coach, Dooney or most of the MK items. (There was one MK wallet that was questionable to me but I don't know the brand or item well enough to feel comfortable enough to report it.)
