First - genuine Drawstring Backpack from 1995 or 96, I can't quite read the year code

Second - genuine Rambler's Legacy from 1999

I forgot to add that in my notes I had this bag NYC Rambler crossed that out and my next note was Metropolitan Portfolio and that was what I was going to use in listing. Glad I have the correct name now and the information on turnlock is fabulous.

It doesn't look as if my first reply went through so I'll try again, just in case)

It's good to see that you've done your research.

Probably at least half of the sellers on the major sites like Ebay and Poshmark don't know the actual names of the iyems theyre selling. One incorrect name gets oublicly posted, and others find it and use it in THEIR listings, and before long the poor bag has a completely new name that just keeps getting passed down.

It's especially important to know both the official name and the Coach style number for any bags made before 1994 because names from that time frame are even harder to find. Style numbers are the best way to pin an item down but those aren't readily available either. Since all Coach items should be authenticated because many vintage bags as well as more recent bags were copied and faked it's a very good idea to have them authenticated here and to ask in your request if we can include the correct name and style number. Not all of us have access to those records, but if asked, we'll try to track them down if time permits.

(Hope this gets through OK, we had more than a dozen weak tornadoes come through the area almost a week ago and our cable provider is apparently still putting their system back together. Our tv and internet comes and goes, and just "went" for about 20 minutes.)

Hi,
Thank you so much for your help thus far! I do not know history at at all. I have uploaded additional photos of the turnlock. The information about the turnlock is so interesting and is something I will use when I list this item. Sorry for asking quote question guess I missed that in reading what to do, my apologies. I appreciate you pointing out that to look up value I need to look up completed listings! So many individuals miss this important step! I have cleaned the bag with quality leather cleaner and moisturizer. The front of the bag was SO dry when I found it. I have an arsenal of cleaning products that I use. Do you have a recommendation for a quality moisturizer that is your go-to? I am always looking for quality products to use on the items I purchase. Thank you again for your help. It is much appreciated! ~A

The larger "plates" at least were apparently replaced at a later date by what looks like genuine Coach pieces, which is good. I'm not sure about the center twisty part of the turnlock but the front and back plates were replaced some time between 1996 to the present.

And if you enjoy finding new leather care products to add to your arsenal, have I got a place for you!

Our Coach Rehab And Rescue Club thread over at the Coach Clubhouse in our main Coach forum has literally THOUSANDS of posts on everything from getting pen marks out of Coach leather to taking care of funky odors and mildew, and if you have the patience to go through the current and the Archived posts there you'll find enough product recommendations for every kind of leather care product on the market to keep anyone who likes or works with fine leathers happy.

Navigate here:

The very first post has a link to the previous very long thread saved in the Archives.

ETA - CORRECTION - the Archived pages are either temporily or permanently gone, they may have just been relocated. Regular posters to that thread will probably know, or you might come across the link as you go through the thread.

Hi Authenticators, thank you for all of your hard work!

Could you kindly have a look at this Casey on Ebay? (The seller posted the creed and tag photos at my request). If authentic, would you know what year this bag is from?

Many thanks in advance!

It's a genuine Casey, I'm guessing from the color that it's from 1993
