ETA: It's not vintage, though, being made in 2004.

You're welcome. In 2004, the prefix expanded to 4 digits to accommodate a 2 digit year code.

Selling on the forum isn't allowed. There are always ebay and similar sites. Many members sell on ebay, Tradesy, Mercari, etc. Most of the people who are in the vintage chat thread sell rehabbed bags. There are some other members that probably sell unrehabbed bags.

My cousin visited pre-pandemic and left behind this little cosmetic bag along with 2 MAC lipsticks, she told me to keep them because I loved the lip colors and she knows I like "old" coach lol. Anyways here's some pix, I wanted to know if this was authentic? It measures 7.5" x 4.5". Does the ticking make it authentic, or did they fake that too in the past?

I believe it is fake. Fakes copied everything, including the fabric but the stripes on yours are slightly different.

Thanks whateve for the authentication. Lol no wonder she told me to keep it. Can you clarify what you mean by the stripes are slightly different?

Here is a picture of mine. There are other problems with that case, not just the lining. Look at the logo - the A isn't aligned with the other letters. The shape of the case is off too.

Yes I agree, I would be the same way. I haven't yet gotten a bag that I really regret and I would like to keep it that way.



I sent the seller a message to see if she would be open to a return. I know this is precisely why Poshmark is not the favorite platform around here. I can see why they limit returns, but at the same time I think they should allow returns. Just another reason why I am starting to just avoid that site. Its unfortunate because I think listings can sometimes (not always, obviously) be better photographed and drafted than ebay, and I have gotten much better prices on Posh because of the ability to use offers. :/

I will see what the seller says. Fingers crossed it does not turn into a mess.

Well this is about what I figured. I will listen to you this time, because the last time you advised against rehabbing and I went ahead with it, it was a lot of work indeed. The hardware is silver for sure so I'll bet it is the lemon yellow and not sunflower. I am waiting on a response about a return.

Well, I do like the bag for its shape and its color is okay. Whateve mentioned it could be lemon yellow if the hardware is silver, instead of sunflower so that is disappointing but it is a vibrant pretty yellow. But you are right I shouldn't rationalize myself into keeping it, if she is open to a return I will send it back.

Just wanted to update everyone on the ink mark yellow Candace. The seller did have a decent attitude toward the return, but not based on the ink mark or the color description. She continued to claim that the ink mark was disclosed and provided an image showing it disclosed in the description (no one was disputing that), and also reinforced that the color was Sunflower by adding an image of a Coach product page (not a catalog) showing it as Sunflower (I guess, I didn't look at the images she added very close). But anyway, she did agree that the item was not as described on the hardware being silver and not gold. So Poshmark approved it, sent me a return label. It was received by the seller earlier this week and my $86 was refunded yesterday. I wish it would have been a much smaller ink mark, because I could have lived with if it had, but I'm glad the seller didn't make a big fuss about it because I hate confrontation!
