The serial number isn't valid and is on both the Daria48 Fake Numbers List at Ebay and my Fake Numbers List here at tPF. Style number 9085 also belongs only to a Duffle Sac. Please report

I have sent the seller a message first to give them a chance to pull the item down

We don't recommend doing that.

First of all, if the seller is claiming that Coach told her it was an Ergo AND valuable, she's already lying.

Contacting a seller can get you reported to Ebay for harrassment and even auction interference, it's happened to others. Don't do it unless you know the seller and know that they'll respect your reason for contacting them.

And if you tell some sellers that a detail such as a serial number is fake, they sometimes re-list the fake with the creed photo removed. Telling them what the problem is just makes it easier for the dishonest ones to scam a gullible buyer once the photographic evidence is gone.

Sorry, I was just trying to be nice, but I can see what you mean, and I hadn't considered just how badly it might end. The listing has been removed, and I'll take your advice on board. Thanks

I can kind of read the creed, it looks like K8K? OR K8H

DON'T bid on it. The prefix might be K3H- (ALWAYS fake) or K9H- which so far has also always been fake. The serial stamping is illegible, and the creed stamping looks puffy. The style number stamping doesn't look right either.

Don't report it without a clear photo of the creed and serial number. But DON'T buy it either.
Actually, the seller's description states that it's K3H.

ETA: The seller also sold this fake, also with a known invalid serial number stated in the description as 012-3445:

And another K3H bag:

Ebay seller name : goldenwealth
item number: 221744498132
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221744498132?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Thank you

fake. The number has a known fake and invalid prefix as well as the wrong style number for the bag.

ETA: I just read the seller's description! "very valuable" and starting bid of $500!
The listing had already been removed by the time I read this but I found a cache and decided to save it because it struck me as laughable!

It was worth saving!

Whateve mentioned the $500 starting price but didn't comment on the $5000 BIN!! And the description!!

I have told a few sellers their bags are fake BUT its usually the ones who sell a variety of items; from clothing to knick knacks and so on. THOSE sellers are the gracious ones who don't want to get in trouble but get embarrassed that they've listed a fake bag and immediately pull it down. I had one seller who said, 'I never said it was authentic' and didn't care.

So, I apologized told her to have a good day and reported it. It was down within 15 minutes and she sent me a nasty message back telling me she could sell whatever she wanted as long as she didn't say it was 'authentic'. I couldn't help but laugh.

Geeee you'd think with a $500 start price and $5k BIN she'd at least give you free shipping.

Thank you for saving that!

Seriously, is s/he a complete idiot, or just a liar with no common sense?

I think " goldenwealth " is worth keeping an eye on - and definitely worth AVOIDING as a seller!
