Getting pictures of the little brown “made in Vietnam” tag is nearly impossible without a third hand. It does have the horse and carriage logo on the reverse side. I’m not finding any sort of a style number tag, but it does have a serial number on the creed.

Also, if it is real, does anyone remember what the name of this color is? It’s too purple to be oxblood, but too red to be magenta.

Let me know if you need additional photos or info, thanks!

Bump. Let me know if you need more information, thanks!
Sorry. I must have missed your request.

The bag looks good but I don't know the color it is called.

SNL changed the whole Saturday night dating scene. My then-BF and I stayed home, ordered pizza and watched TV instead of going out. Within the space of just a few years, the Saturday night lineup included various combinations of SNL, Sha Na Na, the Weekend news magazine with Linda Ellerbee among others, and the bloody brilliant SCTV. The best of all possible worlds, and it was all free except for the pizza (and the occasional humor-enhancing chemicals) ;).
Just chiming in to say that you've reminded me they did a reunion show with the SCTV cast a couple years back -- I just don't know when they'll actually air it since it was filmed in mid-2018. Lola Heatherton was one of my favourite characters but nothing's made me laugh as hard as Andrea Martin's impression of Brenda Vaccaro!

All of their characters were brilliant, Bobby Bittman, Lola, the Shmenge brothers, Guy Caballero, Count Floyd, and my favs, Bob and Doug. Please post here if you hear anything else about an air date for the reunion show!

ETA - there are a few mentions of it on Reddit but apparently it's still in "post-production" which probably means legal hangups of some kind.

Until then, we'll just have to get our giggles from YouTube.

i always get rid of the hang tags when i get a coach bag. cutting the creed would seem impossible as it would put a hole in the bag. i'll keep it around and try to use it and just throw it away if i don't want it around anymore.
I imagine it's too late at this point, but I'd always recommend keeping the hangtags whenever you get a Coach bag -- if you really don't like the look of them and don't think you'll ever resell the bag, you can sell the hangtags as people will pay for that sort of thing. It's kind of a hallmark of the line in my opinion, but others here with longer relationships with Coach may have different thoughts on the matter.

Thanks for the update; I imagine the reunion would be pretty bittersweet, what with no Candy or Ramis to join them. It doesn't make any sense that there are legal hangups though or why it's taken so long -- it's a bunch of people on a stage talking about the show... unless they interspersed a lot of clips and have to get releases for all that? You'd think they would have cleared that in advance somehow. I just hope they release it before we lose more castmembers!

I still have to see Strange Brew sometime. I spent a number of years after college living in Minnesota, so that sketch is a lot funnier to me having seen it after that experience than if I'd watched them beforehand; the accents in particular felt awfully familiar even though I know technically they're Canadian.

I think they were talking about the hang tags off the fake ones? But I might be wrong!

I agree. I think the hang tag is part of the look. It's something that adds to the resale value of the bag, so it's worth keeping it inside the pocket in case you ever decide to sell it. And the hang tags can be sold on their own, as a quick online search will show.

ETA: Obviously, hang tags can't be used to prove anything about the authenticity of a bag!

The glued-in number would probably be from the mid to late 1970s or very early 1980s. It's probably a style 5040 Portfolio and yes, Portfolio was the official name.
Thanks very much @Hyacinth !! I thought it was quite vintage & I appreciate the narrowed down years. I expect those unfamiliar with Coach history may be suspicious of a glued in stamp so your stamp of approval is important.
