Now that you say that I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for an original Rambler. It’s going to take some “downsizing” to use the one I bought but I love the shape, color & it looks like it’s in good condition.Even the Willis is a bit of a squeeze! I’m usually a big bag gal! Have to be prepared for any eventuality!

Take your time looking for one, they can be expensive. I got lucky and found a poorly described one on Ebay years ago for a very good price.

Good evening, everyone. This one has me more curious than anything else. A duffle sac with no numbers / letters beneath the creed. It's actually listed on two sites and both have the same photos.

Vintage Coach Original NYC Duffle Bag

I don't see an obvious item number on this Etsy listing.

I asked the seller for a photo of the info below the creed and this is her answer:

"it does not have the glue on serial #. some nyc do not have the numbers and sometimes they do come off"

I can't see the elongated oval that would be there if the number fell off and doesn't it say 'registration number' or something like that if it had it? I had also asked if there was an oval mark that may have held the glued-in number.

Feeling confused but curious.

There was a time when there was no number below the creed. After that came the glued-in numbers and the "registration" wording.

It's authentic. As @Catbird9 said, when they first started using creeds in the mid 70s, they didn't have numbers. This predates the glued on serial number. It also is the earlier version of the duffle sac, with center seams rather than side seams.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoy learning all of this info about Coach and my favorite bag. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I like the look of the center seams. Now to decide how many brown duffles I actually need!
