IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Hi all, I have a couple items I was hoping could get authenticated. Thank you so much in advance for your time.

Item: "coach purse - Tan" (looks to be a Coach Carly)
Seller: kriau_65
Listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/293419480744
Notes: I have asked for a clearer picture of the creed but not gotten a response back yet; I know authentication likely hinges upon that but if you see any other red flags I'd appreciate it.

Carly, even the leather Carly styles, were one of the most faked lines of bags in Coach's history, and I'm not comfortable authenticating any of them without a clear creed and serial photo. I'd also like to see at least one photo of one of the sides of the bag with all the hardware and turnlocks.
Thank you @Hyacinth! I had no idea the Carly was so faked, but that makes sense because it was a popular style. Thank you so much for the tips and I will ask for additional photos.
I'd also like to see the creed from the Carly listing although I don't see red flags. It looks like it might be 10615 but don't buy unless and until the seller replies with a picture.

She responded fairly quickly saying "here are the pictures" but there was nothing attached to the message or embedded within. I asked her to please resend; we'll see how amenable she is to the request. Will report back with what happens next!

Hi guys I was just wondering if someone could authenticate my coach bag? It has the YKK on the zipper and very good stitching. I just don’t know since I bought it on amazon.

Someone elsae will have to authenticate it, but I just want to say one thing.

THE BRAND OF ZIPPER ON ANY COACH PRODUCT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT IT'S GENUINE.

Read the Signature in purple under every one of my posts, and then read what I wrote for the Salearea Guides almost 10 years ago about the YKK Zipper Myth. PLEASE don't ever waste your time looking for the name on a zipper! It would also be a good idea to read the other 5 Salearea Guides, especially the one on Coach Authenticity Guides - Facts and Myths that goes into all the mistakes and outright lies found in most of those online "guides"

Authenticity Guides, posts 15 to 18
and
YKK Zippers, post 22

Anyone who bases their Coach buying decisions on whether or not the bag has YKK zippers could end up with a roomful of fakes.

If the pictures show the bag you received, I think it's fine.

In the future, please include a link to the listing for items purchased online and if there's a seller ID, include that too.

Please refer to post 1 on page 1 of the thread for the information we need, including link to listing and seller ID (if purchased online), and additional pictures. If not bought from an online link, please state where it came from.

Please show a picture of the full front of the bag and if you can get a clearer picture of the creed, please add that. (And refer to the first post for more pictures needed.)

I'm seeing some red flags but before commenting, I'd like more information.

I'm so sorry but you bought it from a scammer.

The bag is fake, the receipt is fake and the tag is fake. The name on the receipt, "James Vaias" and the Chandler, AZ outlet location have been discussed and associated with a Japanese scammer ring.

This thread is a warning although most of the sellers discussed on the thread aren't selling their close fakes on ebay any longer because so many listings were removed. They've moved on to Shoppee, Carousell, Tokopedia and others.
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/japanese-coach-ring-warning.1012568/#post-33305741

Notice that the tag and the receipt show the item as a black accordian wallet.

Here are just a few of the problems:
  • Sloppy creed stamping
  • sloppy creed stitching
  • The creed shows the bag as being made in 2017 yet I don't believe the style came out until 2019.
  • Hang tag isn't correct
  • Made in tag shows a MFF (outlet) style yet creed shows that bag would be a boutique (full-priced) style
The following pictures show the sloppy creed with incorrect text on the fake vs. a creed from an authentic similar style as well as another comp of the same style as your fake is supposed to be: (Click to enlarge)

How did you pay for it? If you used Paypal or a credit card, file a dispute.

Based on the receipt, tags, items, etc., I think the seller is part of a ring and that's why they aren't selling on ebay any longer.

Can you give amazel_ a negative feedback? Can you report fakes on Carousell?

Did you happen to notice that the creed on the bag you received is a different bag than is shown in the listing?

AMAZEL_ may have purchased one authentic item (or that too might be fake) but the one you received is UNQUESTIONABLY fake as are all the props and the seller is lying to you.
