Hello everyone,
This is my first post... so I hope I’m following all the rules. If not please please please bare with me, I tend to forget things often.

I purchased this bag via eBay a week ago, and should be getting it in the mail soon. However, I’m kinda worried, now that I’m looking again at the auction. It’s kind of a “to good to be true” oh no gut feeling. I have a few other coach 65th anniversary Leather bags... 1 purchased used, but 2 were purchased way back when from the full price stores. The reason I’m worried is the condition its in, especially for the tanned leather. I have a whiskey (I know this one isn’t) but mine shows wear even if I breathe on it wrong... which is exactly why I love my whiskey bag!!!

but this one looks pretty much new! For the price, if it’s authentic... I think I did pretty good. If it’s fake, then at least I didn’t lose the house when I won the bid. Thank you so much for any of your expert opinions and thoughts.

I’m posting the link from eBay auction and also attaching all the screen shots. Because the auction ended a couple weeks ago, I’m not sure what you will be able to see. Thanks again!

It's genuine, from 2007.

Ebay keeps Completed Listing photos up for several months after the sale unless there's a valid reason for the listing to be removed. You usually don't have to copy and post all the photos if the auction listing link still works

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if this bag is fake as well? It has silver toned buckles and grommets in the same style as my fake does but the creed is on the right side. Also your pictured bag and the others I've seen so far have solid metal zippers on the inside flap but mine has very thin plastic black zipper teeth. I just want to make sure I don't claim a condition of counterfeit to good will and be incorrect about it.

Silver hardware is usually only a problem when the date code in the serial number indicates a month or year when a hardware color wasn't available on a specific style, or when a bag has brass strap buckles or mountings and the strap has silver or silver-ish grommets. The one you just asked about has the right hardware color (both brass and nickle-color hardware were available during that month and year) and "plastic", actually nylon, zippers were also available, it depended on what a plant had available at the time. There are very few blanket rules about what details a Coach should or shouldn't have, many of those details depend on when and where the bag was made. Coach changed details as often as people change socks. That's one reason serial numbers with their production codes in bags from 1994 to the present are so important.

Thank you for the clarification Hyacinth. I realize even more so now that I know a lot less than I thought I did when it comes to spotting fakes.

Up until about 15 or 20 years ago most people judged whether or not a "Coach" was authentic by the thickness and softness of the leather and whether or not the stitches were tight and straight. Then some smart-alecs mostly at the Ebay Shoes and Purses Board started looking at and figuring out the serial numbers and found out that along with the quality of construction, the details of the creeds and serial numbers also were incredibly important. Some compared details of bags that were similar to figure out how they were connected. One of them had worked in the car business for years and used to analyze car serial numbers just to see if she could figure them out and started doing the same thing with Coach numbers. Step by step they figured out a lot of it. But it takes time, copious notes and photos, and sharing information to come up with an acceptable analysis. And there are still a few question marks we haven't quite worked out yet.

Dear Authenticators,
