  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

The spot only appears in that one photo. I don't see it in any of the others, so I think it's not on the bag itself. I'd ask the seller about it to be sure.

By the way, it's not a Basic Bag 9455 with a glued serial number, as the seller indicates. It's style #9968 which I believe is a Mitchell Zip.

Oh wow thank you so much Catbird9! I didn’t pay attention to the description but did think it was a basic bag. I didn’t know about the Mitchell bag at all! Thanks again!!

Dear authenticators,
A bag from Vestiaire this time. They authenticate all items at their headquarters but I heard some horror stories about authenticity of their products. I am not sure if you have to sign up as a member to view pictures. I am a member, email and password was all I had to provide.

Item name: Coach clutch bag
Seller: vera (sellers don't have a unique seller name on this site, unlike ebay. So there might be lots of sellers with that name)
Item no: 8505887
Link: https://www.vestiairecollective.com.../brown-leather-coach-clutch-bag-8505887.shtml

Comments: It looks like a crossbody bag not a clutch, seller is from Romania and sold quite a lot of items in the past.

Many thanks in advance x

Your link doesn't work.

I think it's this one.

The bag certainly isn't a clutch! It's authentic and looks like a station bag, style 5130.

Good morning!

A second item for today. When you get a chance could you please have a look?

Thanks!

Item: basic bag
Seller: popoko

Comment: in photo 6 there seems to be a black dot on the bag. But I think that might actually be a spot on the camera.. what do you think?

Obviously the seller copied her title from another listing. It's not a Mitchell zip, which is 9938, not 9968. It is styled like a basic bag. However, the style number is wrong for a basic bag, which is 9455. While I don't see any problems with the creed, if it were a basic bag, it should have a center bottom seam, which it doesn't. There are two bags listed on ebay now that have a style number of 9968 and look similar to this bag. One doesn't have enough pictures, but the other also shows what looks like an identical creed and no bottom seam. I don't have any records of a style 9968 in my files.

Good morning! Can you please authenticate this little gal. I’ve had her in my collection for a while and never had it authenticated. It was originally purchased from my local thrift store but I don’t remember which one or where...thanks so much!
Item: pocket drawstring
Seller: local thrift store
Measurements: base is about 7.5 inches wide by 4.5”—a little less than 4.5”. It’s appropriately 9.25” tall. Thanks again!
Authentic.

Thank you Beenburned.
I just clicked on both of our links and neither of them worked. Vestiaire is quite a strange site but their item number is relatively short compare to ebay so slightly easier to locate.
Have a lovely afternoon x
That's so weird because when I found the bag, I checked the link on another browser to see if it worked and at that time, it did! (First did Chrome then did Safari.) Even more weird is that it still works on Safari but not on Chrome!

ETA: BTW, did you notice that the seller is in Romania? I don't know where you're located but shipping might be pricey.

For clarification, here are pictures.

Thank you for checking it so thoroughly, whateve! I really appreciate it!
I’m looking for a basic bag and since this isn’t one, I think I’m going to take a pass on it. But thanks so much for the analysis! Always learning something new here.
I’m loving my growing collection of vintage coach bags and it’s all thanks to you and all the Authenticators on this forum!!

Yes this is the bag ! I am in the UK so it is not a problem with tax. In fact, the difficulty of living here is buying from America with the import tax.
Any idea how old the bag is? X

I have 9968 as a Mitchell Zip, 1994 Holiday Preview catalog I think:
9968_Mitchell Zip-d.jpg

The earlier version of the Mitchell Zip was 9938, here's the 1993 listing:

ETA - Sorry about the duplicate pics! It looks like Coach changed the style number and wrist strap details in 1994.
