The FIRST post in this thread has that information, that's why it says
**see first post for format** at the top of every page of this thread.

Please read it and follow the instructions. The most important photo after the picture of the front of the bag is a readable close-up of the creed and serial number and, if available, the small fabric tags on the inside of the bag showing where it was made and in bags made in the last 5 years, the 2 lines of production codes including the style number..

Usually we do NOT recommend buying from sellers in the Philippines because of the very large problem with fakes being sold in and distributed through that country. We know that you want to buy locally but it's dangerous especially when you have to use a system like bank transfers for making payment. We only recommend paying with Paypal or an internationally accepted credit card because those payment methods have a good system for refunding money paid for items that turn out to be fake.

NONE of those listings has a readable creed and serial number in the photos and they can't be authenticated.
Although I recommend against buying from sellers in the Philippines, I have a few comments reinforcing my reasons for recommending against buying from there.

1. There's a long history of very close fakes
2. Sellers rarely have adequate pictures needed for authentication and when they do have the pictures, they're just blurry enough that it hides the "telltale signs" that the item may not be authentic.
3. Regarding the first seller, baglover26, this post is from another brand on TPF:
Fake Longchamp: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...fer-to-1st-post.224270/page-491#post-23965305
4. Regarding the second seller, timestopph7, in this post, I expressed concerns and I have the same ones today, 2 years later.
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ost-for-format.889527/page-1742#post-31848907

Without even looking at the listings in question, I don't recommend either seller.

hi authenticators.
- searched for E8G and the quote attached turned up. maybe this photo can contribute?
-E8G bag I found below for authentification at yoir convenience.

Sorry, the pictures just aren't clear enough for authentication, and the G plant code doesn't have more than a small handful of provably genuine examples in my files. Mercari really needs to allow more photos in their listings, and to include some kind of Zoom feature, it's really hard to see any important details. You and the seller aren't even seeing the same serial number, and I can't read it either.

Maybe someone else can take a look

Thank you. I do have several other genuine *8G- prefixes in my files, as well as one fake. The key here is the font, or rather fontS, used in the genuine bags. Interesting that the genuine ones so far only seem to have been used in style numbers 9966 and 5130, which could mean the plant code was a "floater". If you dig a bit deeper into the posts here at tPF from 2016 that you mentioned,
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ost-for-format.889527/page-1181#post-30692498
it's possible that the original bag being questioned with a -9039 style number actually had a C plant code instead of a G. After seeing the cleaned-up photos BeenBurned posted a little later, I'm inclined to agree with her:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ost-for-format.889527/page-1182#post-30693918
Even if the plant code from that bag in the 2016 posts actually is a G, it's the wrong font and the bag wouldn't be genuine anyway. There's just no way to know if that one is genuine just from a poor quality creed photo.

The genuine *8G- serials should look like these, there may be as many as 3 different fonts used in the serial numbers but they're all used in the same places:

1998_G-plant_prob OK_G8G-9966-a.jpg
and

1998_G-plant-US-H8G-5130.jpg

I have 5 or 6 examples of serials from different bags with the same year and plant codes and except for the style number and month, they're all the same and obviously made by the same stamp.

I also have pix of this alleged "Bleeker" with a N8G- prefix, which is absolutely fake - wrong fonts, "puffy" creed, invalid month code, and one very important detail on the bag itself that tells me it's fake even without the serial number, click on the thumbnails.
1998_G-FAKE-plant-N8G-9301-a.jpg

1998_G-FAKE-plant-N8G-9301-b.jpg

So yes, previous discussions can be very helpful, but the key is almost always going to be photos. Which is why, even though the bag you're asking about in post 42634 is missing several photos of areas that we'd really like to see, the serial prefix matches several known genuine examples exactly.

As long as you get that bag with that EXACT creed and serial number that matches the listing photos, you should be OK.

So I got this megan bag, I think it's ok but the strap is about 4 inches shorter than my other megan. Now I'm going to check them both. Lol. The black one didnt have many details so I included the best creed pic I could get.

Both look genuine, I can't explain the strap differences. Other opinions are welcome.

hi hyancinth! thanks for responding so quickly. i did see the first post although there were just a couple of items there. Please see below. Are those it?
1. Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.

2. Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

I know re: fakes and Philippines. such a sad thing. However, i need a backpack asap so i have no choice but to make do with what i have access to. That's why I am taking this extra precaution to have the bags checked here first before buying so as to minimize the risk. sorry for the inconvenience.

thanks again!

Yes, paragraphs 1 and 2 include the details we need. Without those photos there is no way to prove that something being sold as a Coach is authentic.
