Thank you. Goodwill and Entrupy really need to be made aware of the mistakes that are being made. Both Goodwill and Entrupy are losing any (what little) credibility they may have had and are only convincing those of us who authenticate that AI cannot do a good job!

The mistake wasn't on your part. Many buyers and sellers don't know the names of styles they buy or sell. They like a size, style, color and fit of a bag and buy for those reasons!

But the problems with the bag that ENTRUPY wrongly authenticated has several issues and also further shows that just because a bag looks like the style it's supposed to be doesn't mean that it's authentic.
  • The serial prefix, L5S means that the bag claims to have been made in 1995. The text of the creed states that it was made in the US but "S" is a plant code for a factory in China and S wasn't operating in 1995.
  • The back of the female part of the turnlock has indentations, common on fakes but rarely seen on genuine Coach and on very few styles. And those styles don't have the type of turnlock as seen on this bag.
  • "Solid brass" on the buckles is another red flag.

Thanks for this! Very informative, especially about the creed. The back of the turnlock and also the words “solid brass” on the buckles raised the red flag for me, and I also noticed after dunking that some of the hardware (the fastener next to the buckle) seemed to be turning silver. I thought and was hoping someone just switched out the hardware or something. That’s what prompted me to ask you guys. But the bag did survive a bath, so I guess there’s that. Sigh. At least I didn’t pay that much...

Edit: I also did not know Entrupy was AI!!!!!

I love this style, but am concerned about the long line under the “o” in the serial number. Is it authentic? Thank you in advance!

That bag is authentic but the seller has a history of mixing.

CAN ANYONE HELP! So I was at an estate sale and came upon this MAJOR score, after much research it looks like I found some earlier Bonnie Cashin Coach purses. One I could find relatively easy but the other has me STUMPED. I stumbled upon this page after hours of research and I need help! It seems like the hardware would be as early as her collaboration with Meyers Leather, I found a similar purse on this amazing museum of vintage purses youtube channel. Anyways, I posted pictures of the bag.
