Thanks very much! It must have been either wildly popular & everybody is holding onto theirs...or a dud, because I couldn't find info anywhere!! You are a wonderful resource !

Many of them were made before Coach started using the style number as part of the serial number back in 1994, so a lot of owners and sellers don't even know the style name or number. That's one reason why a lot of pre-1994 bags are so hard to find, or to find information about them.

Hello! Can you please authenticate this bag?

Item: Black leather satchel
Seller: shopgoodwill

Comments: I’m relatively new to this but I’ve been getting an idea of what the vintage creed and what it can/should look like- but this one says “made in usa”. I’ve only seen “made in the United States” so far. Is that possible? I know with coach it seems there are many exceptions! Edit: it also says “leathers” instead of “leather”, which sometimes confuses me.

The listing you asked about is authentic but you might want to check out the seller's Ebay ID and her history of being posted here:

Thanks for the quick reply, BeenBurned... but yikes, those fakes are recent!! And yeah I thought this seller was on eBay as well (I have seen her listings before). It looks like she’s not selling through eBay anymore.

There have been dozens and dozens and dozens of different creeds and creed wordings over the course of Coach's history.. You can ONLY compare creeds for the same style made in the same plant, month and year AND made of the same kind of material. I'm not going to get into all those dozens of variations, that's why we keep saying here and at other sites to leave the final authentications to the experts. The Salearea Guides (please read them if you haven't done so already, the thread is Stickied at the top of every Coach Shopping index page) go into a little detail but there is NO one permanent template for a creed statement, don't ever expect one. The only exceptions are creeds with misspellings, bad grammar, punctuation and spacing and that violate basic rules of American English. Those are almost without exception, FAKE.

ETA - Just to narrow it down to your specific question, one of the plants from the late 1980s and that made MOSTLY, but not exclusively, bags from the Lightweight line used the "Made in U.S.A." instead of Made in the United States. It doesn't mean they're fake! The one in the listing in your post is genuine.

Hello learned Coach experts, can you help me determine if this recent purchase from my local thrift store is an authentic Coach bag.
Name: Weston Shopper Bag. (I think)
It has no tag.
measures 11 x 10 and strap drop is 13" and please ignore my fat finger! Sorry!
