Hello- Can someone please authenticate this Coach jacket for me? I have Googled high and low without much luck so I’m not even sure of the style or model. It’s soft leather with wool lining. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I've seen a few other clothing pieces made in Portugal. This one is a Monterey Car Coat from the 1992 Holiday Preview catalog, and if that one is Nubuc, the style number is 921. The smooth lambskin version would have been Style 920. Original retail price was $760.00

Can someone please help me, I have no info about this bag. If its real or fake. It seems real but I cant find another one like it anywhere. I got it for less then 10 bucks. I'm looking to purchase another one as this one is getting worn. Please help!!

Where did you buy it? Is there a link to the listing? (See post 1, page 1 for the information we need.

Please wait for other opinions on this one because this is an oddball!

I'm not comfortable with it.
1. The style number (if I'm reading it correctly) as well as the creed text is for a twill bag that looks like this:
https://poshmark.com/listing/Coach-...her-Shoulder-Bag-EUC-5c40ccfb2beb798f5c506512
Your bag isn't twill and shouldn't have that lining.
2. The construction of the bag looks correct for either 10078 or another similar style. This is 10078:

3. Please post a picture of the open bag so I can see that the creed, lining and bag shown are all in the same item.

4. Bottom line is that I don't know if it's a mistake or if it's a fake (at this point).

Again, OTHER OPINIONS ARE WELCOME.

ETA: Are you sure you're showing pictures from the same bag?

I'm seeing the same problems.

Coach didn't start making Signature C fabrics until 2000. The creed description of a TWILL bag, the too early May 1999 date code, and the fact that Coach bags with any type of Signature C or Logo design as the predominant outside fabric should never have a Logo lining all point to some kind of problem or mixup. So as BeenBurned said, either it's fake or the photos got scrambled with some from a diifferent bag. There's no way to authenticate it or even identify it unless the photos of the bag and the creed are for the same item.

The creed belongs to a Mercer Zip from 1999 like the ones shown below and matches other creeds from other twill Mercer styles from the same year and plant. Please post the photos that BeenBurned requested for the bag you're asking about including a correct photo of the creed patch and serial number.

I've been thinking about the bag for several hours after having spent a considerable time looking for other evidence of "mistakes," posting, revising my post and waiting for @balenci89 to come back and comment on and answer my questions. I also went through pages of 1000 sold listings looking for a listing that showed those pictures.

All was to no avail.

Without being too hard on a newbie and giving the benefit of the doubt, I'm hoping that she'll realize that perhaps she made a mistake and posted a creed, either from a different bag in her possession or possibly that a seller is trying to fool her. (However she said she "got it for less than $10" so one would assume she posted her own pictures of the bag she bought.)

The pictures posted appear to have come from and ebay listing (based on the image properties) so there should be a seller ID, item number and link to the listings.

I (personally) am going to try to make posters adhere to the rules of the first post and will (try) not to authenticate if authenticity requests are incomplete. It wastes a lot of time, time that I'll never get back!

After re-reading the original post, it seems to me that @balenci89 owns the bag, has been using it for a while, and wants to get another one to replace it but can't find one. Probably because the original bag was a fake.

Forgive me, I have no idea how to double quote a reply or whatever, but here is what @balenci89 wrote:

I'd like her to clarify. You could be right but we're speculating at this point.

item: coach brown glove tanned cowhide brown purse
Listing#: 74058727
Seller: shopgoodwill

Could you please look at this for me? The spacing in the creed looks off, and the A is a little squishy looking maybe? Not sure about the font or the cartouche either.... TIA!

It's exactly what it's supposed to be for that time period.

The problem is, as I said, that neither the creed nor the lining would have been used in that kind of bag, and the creed and lining in the photo is actually from a 1999 Mercer. And it's a GENUINE Mercer creed and wouldn't have ended up in a Sig bag of ANY kind. Maybe my original reply wasn't clear.

We don't know if the original bag is fake until we see a photo of the creed, serial number and lining FROM THE ACTUAL BAG IN HER POSSESSION. I don't know how a Mercer creed patch ended up in that member's post, but as BeenBurned suggested, if she borrowed photos from someone else's Ebay listing(s) she's wasting her time and ours. I seriously doubt if that creed photo is what's really inside the bag she asked about.

ETA - I'd also like to point out that either the Original Poster removed the photo she posted of the creed patch we're taliking about, maybe because it WASN'T a photo of the actual patch inside her bag. Or maybe my browser just decided not to show it for some reason There's tPF "Screenshot _20190815-144730_ebay.jpg" number on my page indicating there was a photo in that spot that's been removed. The creed patch as I recall had a serial number "E9J-7404" (actually -7406, see correction) which is why I posted a photo from Coach's website of that style in my first reply to that poster. It also showed a part of the lining with the Coach logo and except for the style number -7414 in my photo rather than the -7404 serial in the poster's photo it was EXACTLY the same wording, serial prefix and lining ot this other style-7414 from the Mercer line from my files. It was a genuine Mercer creed patch, serial number and lining.

EATA - WHOOPS, found it, Maybe my browser was acting up again...

I was 2 numbers off on the style number, the creed in the post had a serial of E9J-7406, not 7404, and here's a thumbnail of the creed from Balenci89's original post::

CORRECTION-
Looks like it WAS my browser acting up, the original creed photo is still there and is copied into the above post. Time for me to go to bed, maybe we'll get a photo of the actual creed from the bag.

Could someone please take a look at this wallet.I believe it's a fake.It may have a coach stamped zipper pull but the stitching is horrible.I don't believe coach would inflict this on a costumer.

Id:132188915687

VERY fake. As you said, the quality is HORRIBLE. That zipper pull is seen in many Korean fakes but never in a genuine Coach, although the Korean fakes usually have straight even stitching!
