I have taken the liberty to desaturate the creed picture nothing else was done to it.

It could still be a real coach just not a Patricia,:-s :confused1:

It's fake. The serial prefix is PIL- or P1L- which is listed as "always fake" on the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List. "P" was never used as a Coach month code, and obviously it's not a Patricia's Legacy either.
"P1L- prefixes have been showing up on mostly Patricia's Legacy bags style # 9951. Enough have been found to add this to the "always fake" section since "P" would never have been a valid Coach month code. Patricia's Legacy bags style 9951 are faked very often and should always be authenticated."

https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/page-3#post-33239557

The same thread also includes the six Salearea Coach Guides. I suggest everyone make a mental note of that thread and refer to it often.

Genuine, although it's not a Bonnire Cashin design, nor was it made anywhere near the time period that Cashin designed bags for Coach. The style 9891 Broadway Satchel wasn't even introduced until 1991 which is probably when this one was made, and Cashin ended her collaboration with Coach in 1974. And AFAIK, the use of Cashin's name as part of the description in the listing - "Vintage Coach Bonnie Broadway Collection" doesn't seem to be verified anywhere. I've checked all 3 of my 1991 catalogs starting with Spring 1991 whae the Broadway Satchel was introduced and that description or mention of any "Bonnie Broadway Collection" doesn't appear anywhere. The Broadway Satchel is ONLY listed along with all the other well-known bags in the Classic Collection pages. Here's a thumbnail of the 1991 Holiday catalog page that includes that bag, you may have to click it several times to read it:

Ebay tends to act more quickly on reports by some members with long track records of reporting, that's why fakes should be verified here or posted in the Hall Of Shame. Some of us get our reports acted on pretty quickly because we've been doing it for 10 or 15 years.
ETA - And we know who to contact if our reports are ignored.

We don't recommend that seller " station_85 " either under ANY circumstances. This is just one more in a long list of fakes they've listed or sold. All the seller had to do is search for "coach serial number j8y" in any major search engine.

For those who are interested in reporting, STATION 85 aka STATION_85 also has this fake with a J8H prefix:

Both the J8Y bag and the one BeenBurned mentioned above are still listed.

In case your wondering, I have a special fondness for the Patricias my first ever coach was one.
My wallet was very anemic at that time but the purse I had bin using was falling apart even electric tape woulden't hold the strap together anymore.I marched in to GW and my Patricia cought my eye, not that I knew what she was at the time.Solid leather and durability, that thing is build like a tank then I sah the little hang tag that said coach on it.OMG its a designer bag at a Walmart price.I shot over to the register and I was shaking at that point thinking there not going to let me have her, there going to tell me that price is a mistake. They let me have her at that price and I kept my mouth shut and floated out of there with my designer coach clasped to my chest.
Hyacith authenticated her later that day for me after I spend all afternoon googeling, finding this forum and scraping my guts together to post here.
My wallet stayed empty a while longer but every morning I left the house with my Patricia hanging on my shoulder and she made me feel happy.
I want other people to experience that feeling to and not get ripped of by someone with 50.000 sales to there name and a poor kid in Asia sweating there childhood away making these fakes.

It's one of my favorite styles too. I'm glad you're still enjoying it!

Hoping someone can tell me something about this bag. I do not know the name but have included pix of the creed. The creed is worn and these are the best I can do. The bag itself is about 9" x 9" x 3" with an adjustable strap attached with buckles. There are full-size deep pockets on either side of the main zipper compartment. Thank you.

Thank you @Hyacinth! I knew it wasn't a Bonnie Cashin, I find it amazing how alot of people list many of the vintage Coach bags "Bonnie Cashin". I also see "Doctor" in the description of Broadway Satchels and yet I don't think Coach used that term either.

It looks like the fake Patricia was removed but mtab also sold a fake Stewardess. (And these are prime examples of why authentication through googling style numbers is a dangerous way to "verify" authenticity. Just because a bag looks like the style it's supposed to be does NOT mean it's genuine!)

It's a genuine Legacy North-South Compartment Bag made in 2000.
