BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.

• Front of item

• Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
• Made in tags (when available)
• Measurements
• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
• For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
• If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Like so many others of various shopgoodwill listings, this one is fake too even though the listing states, "Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana states that this item has been posted in accordance with shopgoodwill.com's policy prohibiting the sale of counterfeit items. If you have any questions or concerns about the authenticity of this item please contact seller directly prior to bidding."

If you have an account and contact them, feel free to refer them here! (I'm even willing to respond if shopgoodwill were verify authenticity of their items prior to listing them! In some of the other brands, authenticators won't help sellers. I think I can speak for the other Coach authenticators when I say that if the sellers want to do the right thing, we're willing to help as long as they aren't posting their own listings.)

Some shopgoodwill listings show Entrupy authentications. I wouldn't trust those listings either because Entrupy has been wrong on Coach many times.

Thanks to you and Hyacinth for confirming what I suspected. I have reported a bunch of fakes in the past to GW and they honestly don’t seem to care—even with bags “Made in Korea” that are the easiest to spot and remove from listing. I just don’t want to be personally burned, even though I’m obsessed with Taft bags, in general.

PLEASE AUTHENTICATE

It's authentic but the chain isn't original to the bag and I don't think it's from the 70s but rather, early 80s.

It looks like a basic bag (style 9455) but is missing the original thin leather strap and if I'm seeing correctly, the zipper pull was changed as it's shorter than it should be.

New seller, learning curve. She crammed it into a too-small box, shipped it USPS Priority, and put the weight as 4 lbs. (By itself, the bag weighs 1 lb 2 oz.) She bought her label through eBay and paid $17.61. She practically gave the bag away!

I've seen people ship through their work too. I shake my head.

I will no longer help promote Goodwill (various IDs and sites) because of their lack of proper vetting of their items, their refusal to remove fakes when contacted and their use of authentication companies that make too many mistakes.

Although on many of their sites, they "guarantee authenticity," a lot of those listings are for fakes and even when contacted, they don't end their listings. (This post is from just a day ago: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ost-for-format.889527/page-2636#post-33255459.)

I also resent having to open a Goodwill account in order to ask questions or contact them about authenticity (as they request in their listings)!

Genuine Maggie Duffle. They cut off the bottom of some of the serial number but it still looks OK

Usually people underestimate the weight! The first purse I ever bought on ebay was one we had seen at Macy's for close to $100. It was $35 with free shipping on ebay. The seller sent it express! I remember wondering if she made any money.

  Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
  • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    
  • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.
• Authenticators are not required to answer every request and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.
• Please note that comments on price and condition are NOT permitted.
• Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests should be posted in this thread.
